Homosexuality refers to sexual activity or marriage between individuals of the same gender, including men with men (gay) and women with women (lesbian). These correspond to the first two letters, “L” and “G,” in the term LGBTQ+ movement. The commonly used terms homosexual and heterosexual are fairly recent in origin. Károly Mária Benkert (d. 1882) first coined the word homosexual in a letter he wrote to Ulrichs on 6th May 1868.

# 2. What is Homosexuality?
Homosexuality refers to sexual activity or marriage between individuals of the same gender, including men with men (gay) and women with women (lesbian). These correspond to the first two letters, “L” and “G,” in the term LGBTQ+ movement.
The commonly used terms homosexual and heterosexual are fairly recent in origin. Károly Mária Benkert (d. 1882) first coined the word homosexual in a letter he wrote to Ulrichs on 6th May 1868.[1]
The term “people of Sodom” refers to the inhabitants of the ancient city of Sodom, which is mentioned in the Qur’an and the Bible(Injeel, Always remember, when we say Injeel in relation to the Bible, it means the Injeel that was given to Jesus, not today’s corrupt Bible. Whatever in today’s Bible version agrees with Islam, we accept it and say its words are from Allah and unchanged. Whatever goes against it, we reject it and say it is not from Allah but from Shaitaan. And whatever neither contradicts Islam nor is found in Islam, we remain silent about it.). The word sodomy' is primarily a reference to the act of penetrative anal sex. The Arab term for sodomy is liwāṭ, which means "the practice of the people of Lut alyhisalam[2].
Sometimes you will find that homosexuality is used only to refer to gay, which means a sexual relationship between two men, similar to what occurred among the people of Prophet Lūṭ (ʿalayhi as-salām). However, in a broader and more general sense, homosexuality refers to sexual activity or attraction between people of the same gender.
Terms such as homosexuality, transgender, heterosexual, and bisexual are modern terms used today, so it is important to understand their definitions clearly.
Nowadays, homosexuality generally refers to sexual relationships between people of the same gender. In this context, men with men are called gay, and women with women are called lesbians, which form the first two letters “LG” of the LGBTQ acronym.
In this compilation guidebook, whenever I refer to the term homosexuality, I mean same-sex sexual attraction or relations between people of the same gender, such as men with men (gay) and women with women (lesbians).
According to Islamic and Biblical texts:
- The people of Sodom were known for immoral behavior, including cruelty,
injustice, and sexual misconduct.
- In particular, they are often associated with homosexual acts and disobedience to Allah.
- Because of their wrongdoing, the city of Sodom was destroyed by Allah as a punishment.
# 3. Everyone Knows Through Common Sense Why Homosexual Acts Go Against Nature and Against Fiṭrah (Natural Disposition)
There are many reasons, understood through common sense and the natural disposition (fiṭrah) that human beings are created with, which show why homosexual acts are viewed as going against nature.
1. Humanity Would Not Continue to Exist
If homosexual acts were something innate, genetic, or the natural way, then humanity would have ceased to exist long ago. Human beings continue to exist generation after generation because reproduction occurs between a man and a woman. The very fact that humanity continues clearly shows that same-sex relations cannot produce the continuation of the human race. From a simple common-sense perspective, this demonstrates that homosexual acts go against the natural order of human reproduction.
2. Health Concerns
Another reason often mentioned is related to health concerns. Certain diseases are commonly associated with risky sexual behaviors, including sexually transmitted infections such as HIV and AIDS. Medical discussions often point out that certain sexual practices carry higher health risks. Because of these concerns, many people argue that such acts are unhealthy and harmful to the body.
The famous Mayo Clinic states on its website (MayoClinic.Org), “Men who have sex with men are at increased risk of contracting HIV, the virus that causes AIDS, as well as other sexually transmitted infections, including hepatitis, human papillomavirus (HPV), herpes simplex, gonorrhea, chlamydia and syphilis.” Health issues for gay men and men who have sex with men (15th August 2014). Robert Winnet writes in the Telegraph, “The Health Protection Agency recently calculated that it costs more than £300,000 to treat every person who contracts the disease including those who go on to develop AIDS. The cost of treating sufferers in the last stages of their lives is particularly high.” (27th February 2012). Refer to the chapter on Rectum Abuse, Anal Cancer and Disease later in this book for more details on this subject.[3]
Basic biology and scientific research informs us that anuses and rectums were not designed for repeat abuse and as a result will have a relatively short life-span. Once the anal fissures and anal-warts set in and the sphincter muscle goes kaput - broken and useless - leading to fecal incontinence and parasitical infections, they lose desirability and become a liability, a fertile ground for disease transmission. This in turn fuels promiscuity and the need for more and more sodomizable partners. Hence, it is logical and rational to anticipate a strong demand for a ready and constant supply of fresh new anuses. Within this context, it makes economic sense to sexualize children from an early age in the name of “child rights” and then simultaneously lobby for the abolition of all age of sexual consent laws so that anal supply can adequately meet anal demand inclusive of a large surplus to cater for the excessive promiscuity demanded by the practice of sodomy.[4]
RECTUM ABUSE, ANAL CANCER AND DISEASE
Homosexuality is often presented as a lifestyle, but in reality it revolves around the practice of sodomy. In Islām, anal intercourse is strictly forbidden even between a man and a woman, and it is regarded as a lesser form of sodomy that can lead to the greater one. Medical research strongly connects this type of rectal abuse with serious health problems, including anal cancer. Studies show that many cases of anal cancer are linked to HPV infection, and the risk becomes much higher when a person has multiple partners, which is frequently observed among homosexuals.
Research also shows that HIV-positive men who have sex with men are far more likely than the general population to develop anal cancer. Abnormal anal test results in such cases often indicate precancerous cells and require further medical investigation. Another study published in the Journal of the National Cancer Institute confirmed that the rise in anal cancer in the United States between 1980 and 2005 was largely influenced by HIV infections in men rather than women.
When the rectum is used in this way, it becomes exposed to harmful bacteria, infections, and fecal matter. Unlike the vagina, which is naturally designed for intercourse, the rectum is not built for penetration and easily spreads diseases such as hepatitis, HIV, syphilis, and other infections.128 Medical literature has also shown that repeated rectal abuse can damage the anal muscles, leading to incontinence. One study mentioned that around 25% of those involved in this practice suffer from rectal incontinence.
The term “gay bowel syndrome” has been used in medical literature since the 1980s to describe a group of infections affecting the digestive system as a result of these practices.130 131 Outbreaks of hepatitis A among homosexual men have often been traced to oral-anal contact, including practices such as rimming.
Data from the Centers for Disease Control (CDC) also shows that although homosexual men make up a very small percentage of the population, they account for a very large portion of new HIV infections. Studies from the CDC confirm that gay and bisexual men remain the group most heavily affected by HIV, and the risk of transmission during anal intercourse is many times higher than during vaginal intercourse
Medical research further indicates higher levels of promiscuity, greater exposure to sexually transmitted diseases, and increased rates of mental health problems, substance abuse, and suicide among homosexuals. A study in the Journal of Adolescent Health Care summarized that homosexually active men commonly suffer from sexually transmitted diseases, intestinal infections, physical injuries, and conditions such as AIDS.Additional research has also shown increased rates of hepatitis C, gonorrhea, and other infections among homosexual men in various countries. Medical reports from clinics have also documented high rates of syphilis, chlamydia, and herpes infections in this group. The CDC itself confirms that sexually transmitted diseases have been rising among gay and bisexual men, with high percentages of syphilis cases occurring within this group.Because the rectum is not naturally designed for sexual use, serious injuries can occur. Medical literature includes numerous reports of rectal trauma, foreign objects becoming lodged inside the body, and even life-threatening injuries caused by these practices.
All of this shows that there are clear medical and health-related reasons for rejecting such behaviour. The human body was not created to tolerate rectal abuse without suffering harm. In contrast, natural heterosexual relations within marriage are based on cleanliness, protection from disease, and physical well-being. This is why Islām strongly emphasizes purity and prohibits both anal intercourse and harmful sexual practices.

3. Natural Moral Instinct
Human beings are created with an innate sense of right and wrong. For example, most people instinctively recognize that incest (sexual relations between close family members) is morally wrong, even if someone tries to justify it by saying there is attraction or that precautions(condoms) are used. This natural sense of moral discomfort reflects the human fiṭrah—an internal recognition that some acts violate natural boundaries.
The Atheist, Agnostic, and people of desires (ahl al-hawa) argue that what is right and wrong is subjective, not objective. For example, the Atheist, Agnostic, and people of desires (ahl al-hawa) hesitate to say that raping is bad or incest is wrong. And we all know, during incest or other evil acts, anyone can use condoms and other preventive measures. They don’t have objective morality whatsoever, and this is called true atheism/agnosticism.
The worst case is that they are not even sure that there is such a thing as “certainty” in our lives. If you ask them, does certainty exist, they say no, and answer like “maybe right or maybe wrong.” But when we flip the same standard onto them, they get opposed very badly. How? When we say, is Islam false? They immediately answer “Yes” with full certainty, but by their own principle, they should say, “Maybe it is correct or maybe it is incorrect.” Instead, they say with full confidence that Islam is false. Do you see how these people are confused, more than confused dot com?

4. Comparison With Animal Behavior
Some people try to justify homosexual behaviors by arguing that animals also do them. However, animals also do many things that no one would consider acceptable for human beings. For example, animals relieve themselves openly in public places, and they often act purely on instinct without any sense of modesty, responsibility, or social limits. Animals also sometimes feel horny and they try to satisfy their sexual urges with furniture or other inanimate objects, but human beings do not behave like this.
Human beings are not the same as animals. Humans have intellect, moral awareness, self-control, and social responsibility. Because of this, human behavior is judged according to moral principles, not according to what animals do. If animal behavior were used as a standard, then many unacceptable actions would have to be considered normal, which clearly makes no sense.
Therefore, comparing human moral conduct to animal behavior does not prove that something is natural or morally acceptable for human beings. What matters is human morality, responsibility, and the guidance that distinguishes humans from animals.
The Qurʾān mentions the honor and favor given to the children of Adam in several places. A clear verse is:
“And indeed We have honoured the Children of Adam, and We have carried them on land and sea, and have provided them with At-Tayyibât (lawful good things), and have preferred them above many of those whom We have created with a marked preferment.” — Al-Hilali & Muhsin Khan Translation.(Qurʾān 17:70)
This verse emphasizes that human beings are given dignity, responsibility, and a special status above other creation.
5. The Natural Complementarity of Male and Female
Human biology itself shows a complementary design between male and female bodies, particularly in relation to reproduction and family formation. This biological structure is one of the reasons many people argue that sexual relations are naturally oriented toward male–female relationships.
6. Family and Social Structure
Human societies across history have generally been built around the family structure formed by a mother and a father raising children. This structure supports the continuation of society and the upbringing of future generations. Many people view this arrangement as part of the natural social order.
7. The Desire for Parenthood
Across cultures and societies, most people naturally desire to have children and continue their family lineage. This desire for parenthood is closely tied to male–female relationships, since reproduction requires both sexes. This natural inclination further reflects the biological and social role of male–female relationships.
8. Universal Historical Norm
Throughout most of human history and across many different civilizations, male–female marriage has been the dominant and widely recognized form of union. This historical continuity is often cited as evidence of the natural pattern of human relationships.
9. Human Self-Control and Responsibility
Unlike animals, human beings possess intellect, moral reasoning, and the ability to control their desires. Human societies expect people to regulate their impulses according to moral, social, and legal standards rather than simply acting on every urge.
10. Preservation of Human Health and Society
Many ethical systems—religious and secular alike—encourage behaviors that protect physical health, family stability, and social harmony. These principles are often used as arguments for maintaining certain boundaries in human relationships.
These points are commonly presented from the perspective of common sense, social observation, and natural human disposition (fiṭrah). People who hold this view argue that the natural design of human reproduction, social organization, and moral instincts all point toward a male–female framework for sexual relationships.

[2] ame-gender sexual intimacy is found in the Quran at the time of Prophet Lūṭ عليه السلام as well as in the Ahlekitab(Jews & Christians) books which Allah revealed i.e. Injil(Gospel) & Tawrat(Torah).
Allah said in the Quran:
“And remember Lot (Lūt) when he said to his people: ‘Do you commit the worst sin such as none before you have committed among creation? Indeed, you practice your lusts on men instead of women. Nay, but you are a people transgressing beyond bounds.’”
- [Quran 7:80-81 – taken from abu khadija article https://abukhadeejah.com/lgbtq-homosexuality-gay-muslims-and-islam/]
They used to have sexual intercourse with males instead of females. This evil practice was not known among the Children of Adam before, nor did it even cross their minds, so they were unfamiliar with it before the people of Sodom invented it, may Allah’s curse be on them.
- [From Tafsir of Ibn Kathir Summarized- of verses 7:80 to 7:81]
Allah(The Most High) also said:
“You come to the men of creation and you leave those wives whom Allah has created for you? Nay! You are a transgressing people.”[(Qur’an 26: 165-166]
Ibn ‘Abbās narrated that Allah’s Messenger (peace and blessings be upon him) stated:
“The curse of Allah is upon the one who engages in the act of the People of Lūt. The curse of Allah is upon the one who engages in the act of the People of Lūt. The curse of Allah is upon the one who engages in the act of the People of Lūt.”
Reported in Musnad Imām Ahmad ibn Hanbal 4/292 and graded saheeh by Ahmad Shākir; see As-Silsilatus-Sahīhah of Al-Albāni, no. 6432, who graded it saheeh (authentic)
Jābir narrated that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said:
“What I fear most for my followers is the act of the People of Lūt.” (i.e., sodomy)(Collected by At-Tirmidhi, 1457 and Ibn Mājah, 2563, and graded as hasan by Al-Albāni)
Ibn ‘Abbas said: “The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: “… cursed is the one who has intercourse with an animal, cursed is the one who does the action of the people of Lut.” (Narrated by Ahmad, 1878. This hadith was classed as sahih by Shaykh al-Albani in Sahih al-Jami’, no. 5891).
Ibn ‘Abbas said: “The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: ‘Whoever you find doing the deed of the people of Lut, kill the one who does it and the one to whom it is done.” (Narrated by al-Tirmidhi, 1456; Abu Dawud, 4462; Ibn Majah, 2561. This hadith was classed as sahih by Shaykh al-Albani in Sahih al-Jami’, no. 6589). [4] Rates of promiscuity amongst male homosexuals are multiple times more pronounced than amongst heterosexuals. Michelangelo Signorile, a homosexual activist states, “The term ‘open relationship’ has for a great many gay men come to have one specific definition: A relationship in which the partners have sex on the outside often, put away their resentment and jealousy, and discuss their outside sex with each other, or share sex partners.” Life Outside (New York: HarperCollins, 1997): 213.
Typical gay city inhabitants spend most of their adult lives in “transactional” relationships, or short-term commitments of less than six months and few homosexual relationships last longer than two years. Many men report hundreds of lifetime partners - most often in open relationships. Refer to: Adrian Brune, “City Gays Skip Long-term Relationships: Study Says,” Washington Blade (February 27, 04): 12.
