Distinguishing Major Sins from the Nullifiers of Islam
Placing LGBTQ+ Within the Broader Context of Sin
Before I proceed further to explain this article, let me remind you about the most severe types of misguidance and sin — those that are greater than the LGBTQ+ issue.
If someone commits homosexuality act or changes his or her gender through surgery or medicine because of their corrupt and sinful feelings, but considers it haram and sinful in Islam — just as Muslims commit other major sins lesser than major shirk-kufr such as fornication, adultery, usury (interest), murder, rape, lying, deceiving people, disobedience to parents, backbiting, slandering, taking drugs, drinking intoxicants like alcohol, and so on — then such a Muslim is a major sinner with weak imaan and threatened with temporary hellfire, but the person is still a Muslim, as long as the person believes that LGBTQ+ is haram in Islam except in marriage contract.
So, which sin is the greatest — heavier and more severe than the LGBTQ+ issue? It is well-known (ma'ruf) in Islam: it is major shirk-kufr, and those bid'ah which constitute major shirk-kufr (bid'ah mukaffirah). In simple terms, those things that make a person a mushrik-kafir.
Misguidance and Sin Have Order, Levels and Rulings in Islam
Not all sins, acts of disobedience, and misguidance share an equal share of punishment in this worldly life and in the Hereafter. When scholars collected all the core issues related to misguidance, sins, and disobedience, a clear order emerged. Let me mention their order and rulings in brief.
The First Murder and the Origin of Shirk
When one of Adam's sons committed the first sin on earth — the first murder — Allah did not call it major shirk-kufr, nor did Allah say He would never forgive it, nor that the murderer would remain in Jahannam (Hellfire) forever. Rather, as Ibn Abbas reported in Sahih al-Bukhari, all the children of Adam were Muslims — until a misguided Muslim began to show exaggeration(ghulu) towards their muslim pious forefathers after their wordly death at the time of the first messenger, Nuh (alayhis-salam).
As generations passed after the first Prophet Adam (alayhis-salam), the people of Nuh's era began venerating five righteous Muslims: Wadd, Nasr, Yaghuth, Suwâ‘ and Ya'uq(Quran Surah Nooh 71:23) — and eventually worshipped them in the form of idols. Through exaggerating the status of righteous Muslims after their worldly death, they fell into major shirk with Allah. This is how the first mankind bid'ah(innovation)[1]— which is shirk — appeared in the religion of mankind[2].
Shirk is against human fitrah and is the worst zulm (oppression/wrong) against Allah. Whoever dies upon major shirk without valid repentance before death will remain in the Hellfire forever. Allah says in the Glorious Quran:
“Indeed, Allah does not forgive association with Him, but He forgives what is less than that for whom He wills.” — Quran 4:48; see also 4:116
Al-'Allamah Imam Muhammad Nasiruddin al-Albani wrote a brief article on this topic titled History and Origin of Shirk. https://www.salafipublications.com/sps/sp.cfm?subsecID=TAW01&articleID=TAW010004&articlePages=1 and https://www.troid.org/the-origins-of-shirk/
Negating all kinds of shirk is the meaning of La ilaha — meaning: "None has the right to be worshipped." This is called nafi (negation).
There is both minor shirk and major shirk. As for major shirk: whoever dies in this state will remain in the Hellfire forever. As for minor shirk, a person will remain in the Hellfire, but not for eternity.
The major sins which are lesser than major shirk-kufr are under Allah's will — if He wills, He will punish; if He wills, He will forgive from His mercy. Such a person will not remain in the Hellfire forever.
What Nullifies a Person's Islam Completely
Major shirk nullifies a person's Islam completely. There are other things that similarly nullify one's Islam completely, all of which fall under the categories of La ilaha: riddah (apostasy), magic, major kufr, nifaq al-i'tiqad (major hypocrisy), mocking Islam, taking prophets, messengers, and righteous Muslims as intermediaries between Allah and His creation for seeking help, assistance, du'a, intercession, healing, and protection from them after their worldly death from far or near their gravesite by falsely claiming, Allah has given them power and it happens by the will and permission of Allah and so on.
The Ordered Levels of Misguidance, Sin, and Disobedience
- Things which nullify a person's Islam completely — meaning, things which make a person a mushrik-kafir: major shirk, bid'ah which constitutes major shirk-kufr (called bid'ah mukaffirah), riddah (apostasy), magic, major kufr, nifaq al-i'tiqad (major hypocrisy), mocking Islam, taking prophets, messengers, and righteous Muslims as intermediaries in terms of seeking help, assistance, du'a, intercession, healing, and protection after their worldly death from far or near their gravesite by falsely claiming, Allah has given them power and it happens by the will and permission of Allah, and so on. If such a person dies in this state, he or she will remain in the Hellfire forever like mushrik-kafir.
- Minor shirk-kufr and bid'ah, which constitutes minor shirk-kufr (called bid'ah saghirah). If someone dies in this state, he or she will go to the Hellfire — in accordance with the general verses in which Allah states He does not forgive shirk — however, the person will not remain in the Hellfire forever.
- Bid'ah, which is lesser than shirk-kufr. Such a person will receive a more severe punishment than major sinners, because bid'ah is worse than sins, as reported from our pious salaf and scholars.
- Major sins which are lesser than shirk-kufr and bid'ah — such as fornication, adultery, disobedience to parents, murder, killing, rape, taking interest, deceiving people, lying, backbiting, slander, haram income, and so on. A person must repent before death, and repentance must be uttered verbally. Even without repentance, if the person dies, he or she will not remain in the Hellfire forever. Many hadith about intercession are narrated on behalf of major sinners. Allah says:
“Say: O My servants who have transgressed against themselves [by sinning], do not despair of the mercy of Allah. Indeed, Allah forgives all sins. Indeed, it is He who is the Forgiving, the Merciful.” — Quran 39:53
Narrated by Anas ibn Malik: “My intercession will be for the people of major sins from my Ummah.” — Jami' at-Tirmidhi (2435) - Sahih. Also reported in Sunan Abi Dawud (4739) - Sahih (Imam Al-Albani)
This proves that those who committed major sins are still part of the Ummah and will eventually be saved through the intercession of the Prophet ﷺ.
People of Tawḥeed Will Be Taken Out of the Fire
Narrated by Jabir ibn Abdullah that the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said:
“Some of the people of Tawḥeed(أَهْلِ التَّوْحِيدِ) will be punished in the Fire until they become like coal. Then the Mercy of Allah will reach them, they will be taken out and thrown at the gates of Paradise. Then the people of Paradise will pour water over them and they will grow just like plants grow after a flood. Then they will enter Paradise.”
— Jami' at-Tirmidhi (2597) – graded ṣaḥīḥ
This hadith proves clearly:
- They were punished in the Fire
- But they were still people of Tawḥeed
- And in the end they entered Paradise
Whoever Dies Without Shirk Will Enter Paradise
Narrated by Abu Dharr al-Ghifari:
The Last Prophet ﷺ said:
“Jibrīl came to me and gave me glad tidings that whoever dies without associating anything with Allah will enter Paradise.”
I said: Even if he committed theft? Even if he committed adultery?
He said: “Yes, even if he committed theft and even if he committed adultery.”
— Sahih al-Bukhari (7487), Sahih Muslim (94)
This hadith clearly shows that major sins do not remove a person from Islām as long as he dies upon Tawḥeed, unlike the beliefs of Khawarij.
- Minor sins: these are most of the time forgivable by other good deeds. The Prophet (sallallahu alayhi wasallam) said: "The five daily prayers, from one Friday to the next, and from one Ramadan to the next, are expiation for whatever sins come between them, so long as major sins are avoided." (Sahih Muslim, no. 233)
All of these levels fall under La ilaha, which is a negation called nafi in Arabic. The first thing every person must reflect upon and stay away from within Lā ilāha is those matters that make someone a mushrik or a kāfir. After that come those lesser matters which lead either to the nullifiers of Islam completely or to the weakening of tawḥīd.
To understand where you stand in this hierarchy, you must begin by learning the basic fundamentals of Islamic knowledge. No one is excused from this. Even the most ignorant person who cannot read or write is not excused from learning and implementing it, especially in matters related to major shirk, kufr, and bidʿah which can make a person a mushrik or a kāfir. These are matters that can completely nullify someone’s Islam.
Now, let us see why, even after the advice of scholars, people still do not seek fundamentals and obligatory Islamic knowledge:
1. Prioritizing worldly luxury over seeking beneficial and obligatory Islamic knowledge
This is one of the biggest reasons, and it appears in many ways:
- We clearly see that the imam does not earn much money, so people think Islamic knowledge has no worldly benefit.
- Parents make their children compete with families, relatives, society, and the world through money, status, and recognition rather than through knowledge and righteousness.
- Fear of becoming poor stops many people from dedicating time to learning the religion.
- Many people want a higher standard and luxurious lifestyle, so they think religious commitment will stop them from achieving it.
- Islamic daily rules and obligations such as keeping a beard, praying five times a day, following daily Sunnah, avoiding lying, and living honestly are seen as obstacles at the workplace and in society.
- Some people think that saying the Shahādatayn and praying Jumuʿah once a week is enough for salvation.
- Shayṭān deceives people by whispering that they are still young and can practice Islam later, or that everyone else is doing the same, so there is no need to change now.
- Some people feel an inferiority complex and think practicing Islam openly will make them look backward in society.
2. Lack of seriousness about the Hereafter
Many people believe in the Hereafter, but they do not truly feel its importance in their daily life. Because of this, worldly matters always come first, and learning the religion is always delayed.
3. Depression, Anxiety, and Stress are among the key tools Shaytan uses to hinder both Muslims and non-Muslims from seeking and acting upon beneficial knowledge until death.
Depression stems from dwelling on past events that one wishes to forget but keeps recalling, resulting in sadness and confusion.
Depression often involves dwelling on past events and a sense of sadness or confusion, particularly when a person is unable to move on from those memories & in extreme cases, it can lead to suicide.
Anxiety arises when a person is anxiously anticipating the completion of something, constantly worrying about when it will happen, when it will happen when it will happen….., or worrying about its outcome or timing, leading to inner turmoil and distress.
Stress is the result of excessive worry about the future, overwhelming the mind with concerns about what lies ahead.
Stress is often caused by excessive worry about the future or upcoming events, which can overburden the mind and lead to physical and mental strain.
No one can completely escape from these three challenges—depression, anxiety, and stress—
because Allah has created life with hardship.
However, one can minimize and manage them. Anyone claiming to completely eliminate them is lying and deceiving others.
Everyone’s life continues like this, and whoever cannot handle it commit suicide and kill himself or herself.
For Muslims
For Muslims, depression, anxiety, and stress are part of our life. They are among the best tools for Shayṭān to misguide people, and they are also part of nature, meaning the way Allah created life.
Allah never said that He created pure good on this earth. Rather, He created a mixture of both evil and good.
The pure good is Jannah, and the pure evil is Jahannum.
All the good and evil and all creations are created by Allah alone. We are not like those who believe that for good there is one god and for evil there is another separate god.
No. In Islam, Allah created both evil and good. However, we do not attribute evil to Allah, as our last Prophet Muhammad ﷺ said in an authentic ḥadīth in Ṣaḥīḥ Muslim:
“O Allah, evil is not attributed to You.”[3]
Always remember, everything is pre-decreed by Allah before He created this creation, and everyone is pre-destined either for Hell or for Heaven for eternity. But the main point arises: yes, Allah knows our pre-destiny—whether in Paradise or Hell—but hold on:
Knowing Allah does not mean we know too. Of course not;
Only Allah knows , and we do not know what is prepared in the pre-decree. So, take an action to know the Qadar (pre-decree) of Allah, meaning we do not know whether we are destined for eternal Paradise or eternal Hell, but Allah knows.
To come to know about our fate in the Hereafter, we have to take action, just like in our daily life: Allah knows what we will do, but we do not know. So, what do we do? We take action using the asbāb (means) that Allah has placed in this worldly life. No one knows what is pre-decreed for him or her until it actually passes.
Similarly, keep doing righteous actions, and on the Day of Judgment, Allah will reveal your
pre-decree destination.
Understanding Qadar (Divine Pre-Decree) and Human Action
1. Everything is Pre-Decreed by Allah
- Allah knows everything before creating the universe.
- Every person’s final abode—Paradise or Hell—is known to Allah, part of His divine knowledge.
- Highlight: “Everything pre-decreed by Allah before creation.”
2. Knowledge of Allah vs. Knowledge of Humans
- Just because Allah knows our destiny, it does not mean we know it.
- Humans cannot perceive their pre-decree in the Hereafter.
- Highlight: “Knowing Allah does not mean we know too.”
3. Action is Required to Understand Qadar
- While Allah knows, humans must take action in this life to come closer to understanding their fate.
- This is similar to daily life: Allah knows what we will do, but we still act using causes and means (asbāb).
- Highlight: “To know about fate in the Hereafter, we must take action in this life.”
4. Righteous Actions are Key
- We do not know our pre-decree, so we continue to perform righteous deeds.
- Only on the Day of Judgment will Allah reveal the final outcome of our destiny.
- Highlight: “Keep doing righteous actions; the pre-decree destination will be revealed on the Day of Judgment.”
5. Practical Understanding
- Life is a balance between trusting Allah’s knowledge and actively taking action.
- We rely on asbāb (means, like studying, praying, and working) while leaving the results to Allah.
- This teaches humility, reliance on Allah, and consistent good deeds.
Dr. Saleh As-Saleh mentioned in his book “Al Qadaa wal Qadar (Fate in Islam)
“ that:
AI-Qadar is a secret unknown to any creature until it is manifested. The person's will precedes his action and it is not based upon a knowledge of AI-Qadar. · Claiming that Allah ordained upon him such and such, is false because it is a claim of knowing the unseen which is only known to Allah. Pdf-page 87.
Let us not forget that the matter of AI-Qadar is the "secret" of Allah in His creation. He did not reveal it to a close angel, nor to a Prophet Messenger."128 We believe in the great Wisdom of Allah in His creation and we do not question Him on anything: "He cannot be questioned as to what He does, while they will be questioned." (Qur'an 21: 23)
Certainly, if a matter is not clear to us, it does not mean that there is no wisdom behind its occurrence. Always there is a Wisdom behind everything that Allah creates or does not create. He is the All-Wise; His wisdom is not to make all of His Wisdom known to us. When It is considered foolishness that a person reveals everything he knows to others, then is it fitting to Allah the Exalted and Most Perfect to reveal everything? Pdf-page 116-117.
Side note:
It is illogical and doesn't make sense to use our limited intellect to judge Allah's actions, who is perfect in His knowledge and wisdom. For example, if a person is cutting someone’s forearm and you see it, you might think how cruel this person is, but if the person explains, “I am a doctor; if I don’t cut his arm, his deadly disease will spread in his body and he may die,” then the action becomes understandable. This is just a smaller-scale example. Another example is a 5-year-old child who cries when a doctor injects her; the child judges the doctor’s action as evil with her limited intellect. It is illogical, irrational, and impossible to judge Allah’s actions and knowledge based upon the limited intellect that we have.
Everyone is inside Allah's Qadr – no one is outside of Allah's Qadr:
Certainly, when a person is about to do something, he proceeds based upon his own choice, without any knowledge that Allah had pre-ordained it and imposed it upon him. That is why some scholars said that the AI-Qadar is "a sealed secret." Not all of us know that Allah had decreed such and such until it is actually manifested; only then can we say that Allah had pre-ordained it as such and such. Of course, this does not mean blaming AI-Qadar for our deeds.
In this regard, a story about Umar ibn Al-Khattab relates that when he wanted to cut the hand of a thief, the thief said:
"Wait, O Commander of the Faithful! By Allah, I did not steal except by the AI-Qadar of Allah" (i.e., blaming his action on AI-Qadar).
Umar replied:
"And we will cut your hand only by the AI-Qadar of Allah."
Thus, Umar established evidence against the excuse of the thief. Of course, Umar could have established evidence by both the
Judicial or Legislative Will
(because he is commanded to cut the hand of the thief) and by
AI-Qadar (Universal Will)
.
Therefore, no one has the right to take AI-Qadar as an excuse for committing sin.-Pdf-page 119.
AI-Qadar, is Allah's Secret. Therefore, our minds are not independently able to comprehend all of its details. Sufficent is what revealed to the Prophets about it. We are permitted to seek knowledge about A/- Qadar, and this is different from asking questions like: "Why did Allah guide "Ahmad" but not "Salem?", "Why rain falls on the "southern" part of the land but not on "eastern side?" etc. Certainly, The Wisdom of Allah in AI-Qadar cannot be questioned! - pdf page-154.

The Link Between Life and Imaan
Murrah narrated from Abdullāh Ibn Mas’ūd (radiyallāhu ’anhu)
that he said:
“Allah has divided manners between you just as He divided your provision. Verily, Allah gives wealth to whom He loves and whom He does not love—but He does not bestow Īmān except upon whom He loves…”
(Reported by Al-Bukhāri in Al-Adab Al-Mufrad, no. 275; graded saheeh by Al-Albāni in As-Saheehah, no. 2714. Marfoo’ narration.)
Everyone’s outcome will be revealed in the Hereafter on the Day of Judgement. Even if a person has only a mustard seed of Imaan, Allah will save them from eternal Hellfire.
Hadith Evidence
Narrated Abu Sa`id Al-Khudri:
The Prophet ﷺ said:
“When the people of Paradise have entered Paradise, and the people of the Fire
have entered the Fire, Allah will say, ‘Take out (of the Fire) whoever has faith equal to a mustard seed in
his heart.’ They will come out, and by that time they would have burnt and became like coal. Then they will
be thrown into the river of Al-Hayyat (life) and they will spring up just as a seed grows on the bank of a
rainwater stream. The Prophet ﷺ said, ‘Don't you see that the germinating seed comes out yellow and
twisted?’”
(Sahih Al-Bukhari 6560)
Qur’an Confirmation:
{And We place the scales of justice for the Day of Resurrection, so no soul will be treated unjustly at all. And if there is [even] the weight of a mustard seed, We will bring it forth. And sufficient are We as reckoners.}
(Al-Anbiya’ 21:47)
Everyone Enters Paradise Only by the Mercy of Allāh
The Messenger of Allāh ﷺ said:
“None of you will enter Paradise because of his deeds.”
They said, “Not even you, O Messenger of Allāh?”
He said, “Not even me,
unless Allāh covers me with His mercy.”
(Ṣaḥīḥ al-Bukhārī and Ṣaḥīḥ Muslim)
This ḥadīth clearly proves that entry into Jannah itself is not earned by deeds alone. Even the last Prophet Muḥammad ﷺ will enter Paradise only through the mercy of Allāh. This shows how great and vast the mercy of Allāh is. 🤲✨
But the Level of Jannah Is According to Deeds
The scholars explained from the Qur’ān and Sunnah that entry into Paradise is by mercy, but the
rank inside Paradise is according to righteous deeds
.
Allāh says in the Qur’ān:
“For all there will be degrees according to what they did.”
(Surah al-Anʿām 6:132)
And Allāh also says:
“They will have higher ranks with their Lord, and forgiveness and a noble provision.”
(Surah al-Anfāl 8:4)
And another clear verse:
“Look how We have favored some of them over others, but the Hereafter is greater in ranks and greater in distinction.”
(Surah al-Isrāʾ 17:21) 📖
These verses clearly show that people will not be equal in Jannah. Their ranks will depend on their īmān and righteous deeds.
Example Ḥadīth: Reciting the Qur’ān Raises Your Level in Jannah
The Prophet ﷺ said:
“It will be said to the companion of the Qur’ān: Recite and rise, and recite as you used to recite in the world, for your level will be at the last verse you recite.”
(Reported in Tirmidhī and graded ṣaḥīḥ)
This ḥadīth is a clear proof that a person’s level in Paradise rises according to his deeds, especially reciting the Qur’ān. The more a person followed the Qur’ān in this life, the higher his level in the Hereafter.
Simple Conclusion
So the correct understanding based on Qur’ān and Sunnah is:
- Entry into Jannah = only by the mercy of Allāh.
- The level inside Jannah = according to righteous deeds.
- The more īmān, Qur’ān, and obedience a person has, the higher his rank in Paradise.
4. Thinking Islamic knowledge is only for scholars
Some people believe that learning about shirk, kufr, and nullifiers of Islam is only the job of scholars. They think an ordinary Muslim does not need to know these things, which leads to great ignorance.
5. Blindly following family and society
Many people do not want to question what they grew up with. Even if scholars advise them, they fear going against their family traditions and cultural practices.
6. Laziness and lack of discipline
Seeking knowledge requires patience, effort, and consistency. Many people want quick results in worldly matters but are not willing to give time to religious learning.
7. Thinking “I am already a Muslim, so I am safe”
Some people believe that just being born Muslim is enough. Because of this false sense of security, they never try to learn the fundamentals of faith properly.
Righteous Deeds Also Differ and Have Levels
Just as misguidance, sin, and disobedience differ in severity, so too do righteous deeds differ in virtue and have levels. Smiling at your brother is a righteous deed in Islam. Removing something harmful from the road is a righteous deed in Islam. But which is the highest form of worship?
We know from the hadith: the best righteous deed is praying the five daily prayers with tawhid — singling out Allah alone in worship without associating anything with Him. The Prophet (sallallahu alayhi wasallam) was asked: "Which deed is most beloved to Allah?" He said: "Prayer performed at its proper time." (Sahih al-Bukhari, no. 527; Sahih Muslim, no. 85)
This is called tawhid — which is singling out Allah alone in worship without any partner. This is what we affirm, called ithbat in arabic, which is ill-Allah: meaning only absolute true ilaah (Allah) deserves to be worshipped alone, without any partner.
La ilaha il-Allah — The Call of Every Messenger
La ilaha il-Allah means: "There is none worthy of worship in truth except Allah." This was the call of every messenger. Allah says in the Glorious Quran:
“And We certainly sent into every nation a messenger, [saying]: Worship Allah and avoid Taghut.” — Quran 16:36
“And We did not send any messenger before you [O Muhammad] except that We revealed to him that there is no deity [worthy of worship] except Me, so worship Me.” — Quran 21:25
“And ask those We sent before you of Our messengers: Did We ever appoint gods to be worshipped besides the Most Merciful?” — Quran 43:45

The Shahadah of This Ummah: The Two Testimonies of Faith(Shahadatayn)
Now, we are the ummah of the last Prophet Muhammad (sallallahu alayhi wasallam), so the kalimah (shahadah) is: Laa ilaha ill-Allah Muhammadur Rasulullah — called the shahadatayn, meaning: "None has the right to be worshipped in truth except Allah alone, and Muhammad is the Messenger of Allah." This is as it comes in the hadith of Mu'adh ibn Jabal (radi Allahu anhu).
The Prophet ﷺ said to Mu‘adh ibn Jabal when sending him to Yemen:
“Let the first thing you call them to be the testimony that none has the right to
be worshipped in truth except Allah and that I am the Messenger of Allah.”
(Sahih al-Bukhari, Sahih
Muslim)
The Last Prophet (sallallahu alayhi wasallam) said: "Do you know what is the right of Allah upon His servants and what is the right of the servants upon Allah?" He said: "The right of Allah upon His servants is that they worship Him and do not associate anything with Him." (Sahih al-Bukhari, no. 6267; Sahih Muslim, no. 30)
The 72 Sects: Misguidance Has Degrees
Similarly, when we look at the different understandings and sects in Islam, it increases our iman because whatever the Prophet Muhammad (sallallahu alayhi wasallam) said is the truth. He said: "My ummah will split into seventy-three sects. All of them will be in the Fire except one." The companions asked: "Who is that group?" He replied: "Those who are upon what my companions and I are upon today." (Sunan al-Tirmidhi, no. 2641; declared hasan by al-Albani)
In one version, he says: Jamah and ibn Masood explain, Jamah is whoever is upon the truth if even if the person is alone.
Not all of Ahl al-Bid'ah deserve to remain in the Hellfire forever — so their misguidance differs.[4]
The 72 sects are foundational sects, and from them sprout many sub-sects, as Al-'Allamah al-Walid al-Mufti Shaykh Salih al-Fawzan have mentioned. For example: the Barelwis who follow the Qadiri Sufi order (attributed to the innocent Shaykh 'Abd al-Qadir al-Jilani), the Deobandis, Naqshbandis, and Tijanis are all branches of Sufism — with Sufism being the main branch. Likewise, the Rafidah, Zaydis, Batinis, and Isma'ilis are all branches of Shi'ism — with Shi'ism being the main branch.
Within Ahl al-Bid'ah, there are those who are mushrik-kafir and those who are not. All 72 sects are in the Hellfire and they are Ahl al-Bid'ah, but not all people from these 72 sects will remain in the Hellfire forever like mushrik-kafir. That does not mean there are no mushrik-kafir among the 72 sects who claim Islam.
Those who ascribe to Islam outwardly — praying, fasting, performing hajj, giving zakah, and giving sadaqah — but whose deviation, misguidance, and sin have reached the level of major shirk-kufr: this is very common among the extreme Sufis such as the Barelwi-Sufis, Naqshbandi-Sufis, Tijani-Sufis, and others; and likewise among the extreme Shi'as, such as the Rafidah-Shi'as. They ask for help, assistance, miracles, du'a, intercession, healing, and protection from those prophets, messengers, and righteous Muslims who are in the grave — living their unseen barzakh life — and who are not present physically or spiritually in this world. They claim: just as when the prophets and righteous were alive, people used to ask for their help by the will and permission of Allah, they still have those abilities and powers even after their worldly death. They claim that such figures, even while in the barzakh, can still help, assist and make dua for anyone — from near their grave or from afar, in any language — and can help, assist, and solve problems. With this belief, they make no distinction between worldly life and barzakh life. Indeed, the extremist Ahl al-Bid'ah even claim these high status figures are more powerful now than when they were alive. They call this wasilah and tawassul.
A mushrik is someone who worships Allah alone sincerely by making dua or any other way but at other times commits major shirk with Allah. And every mushrik is a kafir. If a person dies in this state without valid repentance, he or she will remain in the Hellfire forever. Valid repentance means: repentance is only opened before the soul reaches the throat, and before the sun rises from the West direction.
Refuting Extreme Ahl al-Bid'ah is the First Priority
Refuting major shirk-kufr and bid'ah which constitutes major shirk-kufr among the extreme Ahl al-Bid'ah is given first priority in Islam over refuting the kuffar who do not outwardly display Islam — because the extreme Ahl al-Bid'ah display Islam outwardly, whereas the kuffar do not claim to be Muslims. That is why, when you read the books of our salaf, they wrote far more on Ahl al-Bid'ah than on Jews and Christians — because the shirk-kufr of the Jews and Christians is open and clear in the Quran and Sunnah, whereas Ahl al-Bid'ah come within the garments of Islam: praying, fasting, keeping beards, performing hajj and 'umrah, and so on. That is why the four imams — Imam Abu Hanifah, Imam Malik, Imam al-Shafi'i, and Imam Ahmad ibn Hanbal — and their students never wrote heavily against the kuffar, but wrote extensively against Ahl al-Bid'ah, such as Imam Ahmad ibn Hanbal's Radd 'ala al-Jahmiyyah.
The four imams never wrote books against Jews, Christians, Hindus, and so on, but they wrote against Ahl al-Bid'ah. For clarity, see the speech of Shaykh Salih Aal al-Shaykh on this matter.https://youtube.com/watch?v=B3dh37A1UPE&si=qhDE4vikzWlJ5D9u

Idol Worship Will Come in This Ummah
The last Prophet Muhammad (sallallahu alayhi wasallam) said: "The Hour will not come until the tribes of my ummah unite with the mushrikeen and until the tribes of my ummah worship idols." (Sunan Abi Dawud, no. 4252; Sunan al-Tirmidhi, no. 2219; declared sahih by al-Albani). And he also said: "Verily, I fear for my ummah the leaders who lead them astray, and if the sword is placed upon my ummah, it will not be lifted from them until the Day of Resurrection." (Sahih Muslim, no. 1853)
There is no hadith with the wording that the Prophet said his whole ummah will never commit major shirk-kufr. What Ahl al-Bid'ah quote from Sahih al-Bukhari was addressed only to his companions — not to the entire ummah — and does not contain the wording "my ummah" or "my whole ummah." But we do have hadith with clear wording that from his ummah people will join the mushrikeen and will worship idols. The texts are clear. When one says, "The Prophet is talking about the kuffar" — but the hadith is clear: they will join the mushrikeen — so mushrikeen joining mushrikeen? That is an absurdity. The text is clear.
The Three Daily Obligations For Every Muslim:
What is most important for every Muslim is to act upon the Shahadah without nullifying it completely. This means three things:
First — La ilaha: The Negation(nafi)
Do not persist in the mushrik-kafir types of belief, whether in the heart, on the tongue, or through action. This is La ilaha — the negation — negating all things which make any sane person a mushrik-kafir.
Allah says in the Glorious Quran:
"So whoever disbelieves in Taghut and believes in Allah has grasped the most trustworthy handhold with no break in it." — Quran 2:256
And Allah says:
"And We certainly sent into every nation a messenger [saying]: Worship Allah and avoid Taghut." — Quran 16:36
The negation of Taghut always comes before the affirmation of iman. This is the meaning of La ilaha.
Second — il-Allah: The Affirmation
Pray the five daily prayers every day without committing shirk. This is to affirm: I must worship Allah alone, without associating anything with Him. This is called il-Allah — the ithbat, the affirmation.
Worship has many forms, but praying the five daily prayers without committing major shirk-kufr and bid'ah mukaffirah is the highest form of worshipping Allah sincerely.
The Prophet (sallallahu alayhi wasallam) was asked: "Which deed is most beloved to Allah?" He said:
"Prayer performed at its proper time." — Sahih al-Bukhari, no. 527; Sahih Muslim, no. 85
And he (sallallahu alayhi wasallam) said:
"The covenant that stands between us and them is the prayer. Whoever abandons it has committed kufr." — Sunan al-Tirmidhi, no. 2621; declared sahih by al-Albani
Allah said:
“Indeed, the prayer restrains from immorality and wrongdoing.”
(Qur’an
29:45)
And the Prophet ﷺ said:
“The first matter a servant will be brought to account for on the Day of
Resurrection is the prayer.”
(Tirmidhi)
Third — Muhammadur Rasulullah: Following the Last Prophet
To follow the last Prophet Muhammad ﷺ, meaning practicing La-ilaha illAllah according to the guidance of the last Prophet Muhammad ﷺ.
Allah said:
“Whoever obeys the Messenger has obeyed Allah.”
(Qur’an 4:80)
The last Prophet Muhammad ﷺ instructed us to stay away from shirk and to establish the prayer, and he also warned against innovations, even those bidah which have not reached the level of major shirk-kufr, because bidah is worse than sins.
The Prophet ﷺ said:
“Whoever introduces into this matter of ours that which is not from it, it
will be rejected.”
(Sahih al-Bukhari and Sahih Muslim)
Then the rest of the affairs of life come after this foundation.
This is how you complete your Shahadatayn, Laa-ilaha-illAllah Muhammadur Rasulullah, every day through belief in the heart, speech and action.
Everything else in your life comes after these three. This is how you complete your Shahadatayn — La ilaha il-Allah Muhammadur Rasulullah — every single day.
Let me remind you about the Importance of Tawheed
Tawheed is the Shahadatain (La ilaha illAllah Muhammadur Rasulullah), which consists of two pillars: Negation (Nafi) and Affirmation (Ithbat). The second part of the testimony establishes the methodology of the Messenger of this era, who is the Last Prophet, Muhammad (sallallahu alayhi wa salam).
The terms Shahadah, Kalimah, Tawheed, Iman, Islam, Millah, Millat Ibrahim, Ihsan, and Shahadatayn refer to the same foundation with different wordings. Just as words such as largest, highest, and greatest differ in wording yet point toward a similar meaning and complement one another, likewise these terms complement each other and revolve around one reality: to worship Allah alone sincerely without associating anything with Him.
The Tawheed of Allah means singling out Allah alone in worship without associating anything with Him.
Allah said:
“And they were not commanded except to worship Allah, being sincere to Him in
religion.”
(Qur’an 98:5)
The people of Tawheed, when they die, even if they have committed other major sins lesser than major shirk-kufr, Allah will not keep them in the Hellfire forever. This is one of the greatest benefits of having Tawheed and preserving Tawheed throughout one’s life.
Allah said in a Hadith Qudsi:
Allah the Most High said:
“O son of Adam, if you were to come to Me
with sins nearly as great as the earth, and then you meet Me not associating anything with Me, I would come
to you with forgiveness nearly as great as it.”
(Reported by At-Tirmidhi)
Imam Abu Isa Muhammad ibn Isa At-Tirmidhi recorded in Al-Jami‘ (hadith no. 2597) that the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said:
“Some of the people of Tawheed will be punished in the Fire until they become like charcoal. Then the Mercy of Allah will reach them, and they will be taken out and placed before the gates of Paradise. The people of Paradise will pour water over them and they will grow as vegetation grows after a flood, then they will enter Paradise.”
Likewise, Imam Muhammad ibn Yazid Ibn Majah recorded in his Sunan (hadith no. 3122), on the authority of Abu Hurayrah رضي الله عنه, that when the Messenger of Allah ﷺ intended to offer a sacrifice, he purchased two large horned rams. He slaughtered one on behalf of his Ummah, for those who testified to Allah with Tawheed. Link: https://dusunnah.com/article/from-where-did-the-word-tawhid-come-from-shaykh-abd-al-aziz-ibn-baz/
These ahadith clearly show the greatness of Tawheed and the danger of major shirk-kufr, because all sins, even if they fill the earth, remain under Allah’s mercy as long as a person meets Allah without committing shirk.
This also agrees with the statement of Allah in the Qur’an:
“Indeed Allah does not forgive associating partners with Him, but He forgives
what is less than that for whom He wills.”
(Qur’an 4:48)
So every sin besides shirk remains under Allah’s will. If He wills, He forgives, and if He wills, He punishes. However, the condition mentioned in the Hadith Qudsi and other evidence is that a person meets Allah free from shirk, preserving Tawheed and not falling into major shirk-kufr or anything that nullifies a person Shahadah completely.
A Final Note on Knowledge
Having Islamic knowledge about La ilaha il-Allah Muhammadur Rasulullah will not make you arrogant. Nor will it cause you to persist upon major shirk-kufr or bid'ah mukaffirah.
Rather, it helps you to repent immediately — because you know the danger of falling into shirk-kufr and bid'ah. Also anyone can fall into nullifiers of islam knowingly or unknowingly.
Allah says:
"Indeed, Allah does not forgive association with Him, but He forgives what is less than that for whom He wills." — Quran 4:48
And He says:
"Say: O My servants who have transgressed against themselves, do not despair of the mercy of Allah. Indeed, Allah forgives all sins." — Quran 39:53
Knowledge of tawhid is therefore a mercy. It keeps you from the gravest danger and opens the door of repentance for everything beneath it.
Allah said:
“Only those among His servants who have knowledge truly fear Allah.”
(Qur’an 35:28)
So knowledge of Tawheed(Shahadah) protects a Muslim, keeps him aware of the danger of nullifying faith, and helps him return quickly to repent whenever he makes a mistake intentionally or unintentionally.May Allah save all of us from the torment of hellfire and life of the grave.
Why Is the LGBTQ+ Movement Creating Confusion Regarding the Two Biological Sexes (Male and Female)?
1. The Whispering and Deception of Satan (Shayṭān)
A simple and fundamental explanation is the whispering and deception of Satan (Shayṭān).
What is being promoted and normalized today shares resemblance with the promise made by Iblīs(the head of shaytan - a clear enemy of mankind as told by Allah in Quran) when he vowed to mislead humanity and encourage them to corrupt their natural disposition and alter the creation of Allāh.
Allāh says in the Qur’an:
“And I will mislead them, and I will arouse in them sinful desires, and I
will command them so they will slit the ears of cattle, and I will command them so they will change the
creation of Allāh. And whoever takes Satan as an ally instead of Allāh has certainly sustained a clear
loss.”
(Qur’an 4:119)
This verse highlights one of the methods of Satan: inspiring people to follow desires and to become dissatisfied with how Allāh created them, eventually leading them toward altering what Allāh has fashioned with wisdom and purpose.
Imām al-Saʿdī (رحمه الله) said:
وهذا يتناول تغيير الخلقة الظاهرة بالوشم، والوشر والنمص والتفلج للحسن، ونحو ذلك مما أغواهم به الشيطان فغيروا خلقة الرحمن. وذلك يتضمن التسخط من خلقته والقدح في حكمته، واعتقاد أن ما يصنعون بأيديهم أحسن من خلقة الرحمن، وعدم الرضا بتقديره وتدبيره
This includes changing the outward appearance through tattooing, plucking hair (from eyebrows), making gaps (in teeth) for beauty and what is like them of [affairs] in which Satan has beguiled them. So they altered the creation of al-Raḥmān. This comprises anger towards his own appearance, reviling [Allāh’s] wisdom, believing that what they do with their hands is better than Allāh’s creation and not being pleased with His decree and arrangement [of affairs].
This refers to changing outward appearance whereas the gender revolutionaries wish to change the very foundation of what a man or woman is, or in fact, abolish it altogether.

End of speech.
2. Confusion Is Also Used to Break the Natural Boundaries of Marriage and Morality
Another reason this confusion is promoted is that once the clear distinction between male and female is weakened, the natural boundaries of marriage also become weak. When the definition of a man and a woman is no longer fixed, then the definition of marriage also becomes changeable.
This opens the door for many forms of immoral behavior to be justified step by step. What was once clearly rejected by all societies slowly begins to be normalized when people are first taught that gender itself is not fixed. When the foundation is destroyed, everything built on it also becomes unstable.
Because of this, confusion about biological sex is not just a social issue, but a moral issue. Once the natural limits set by Allāh are ignored, people begin to justify more and more actions that go against the natural order and the purpose of family life.
3. It Also Serves a Financial and Political Agenda
Another reason is that the promotion of gender confusion has also become a source of money and influence. Many organizations, media companies, and powerful institutions benefit from constantly promoting new identities and new social trends.
When confusion increases, people become more dependent on institutions, experts, and systems to tell them who they are. This creates a system where identity itself becomes something that can be shaped, marketed, and controlled.
Because of this, the issue is not only about beliefs or personal choices, but also about power, influence, and financial benefit. What is presented as freedom is often used to control thinking and reshape society according to a particular agenda.

The Two Biological Sexes and the Invention of Gender Identity
Allāh created human beings as male and female, and this difference is part of His wisdom so that human life continues through marriage, family, and offspring. This natural way in which human beings are created by Allah is known as fiṭrah, the pure and natural disposition upon which Allāh created mankind, beginning with Ādam and Ḥawwāʾ (Eve).
Allāh created human beings upon this natural disposition so that men and women complement one another, form families, and preserve human life in a balanced and stable manner according to His wisdom and design.
Allāh says:
وَمَا خَلَقَ ٱلذَّكَرَ وَٱلْأُنثَىٰٓ
“And (by)
Him Who created the male (Ādam) and the female (Eve).”
(Sūrah al-Layl
92:3)
Imām al-Saʿdī (رحمه الله) said:
Allāh created every type of animal whose existence He wanted to continue as male and female so that the category [of that animal] would remain, and not expire. He drove one of them to the other through the route of sexual desire and made each of them suited to the other, so blessed be Allāh, the best of creators.
Allāh also says:
“And of His signs is that He created for you from yourselves
mates that you may find tranquillity in them; and He placed between you affection and mercy. Indeed in that
are signs for a people who give thought.”
(Sūrah al-Rūm 30:21)
Imām al-Saʿdī (رحمه الله) commented:
{And of His signs} indicating His mercy, concern with His servants, mighty wisdom and all-encompassing knowledge {is that He created for you from yourselves mates} that are suited to you and you are suited to them, you resemble them and they resemble you {that you may find tranquillity in them; and He placed between you affection and mercy}. Through marriage love, comfort and benefit are achieved, offspring are born and raised, and a person finds peace with his spouse. You will not generally find between any two people the level of love and mercy found between spouses.
For thousands of years, people understood that men and women are biologically different but complementary. Masculinity and femininity work together like a lock and key. Through this relationship children are born, families are formed, and society becomes stable. From families come blood relations, responsibility, inheritance rights, and protection of property across generations.
In the modern period, new ideas appeared claiming that a person’s gender can be different from their biological sex. Much of this thinking became popular through a man called Dr. John Money(described as a 'sexual pervert', 'child-abuser', 'pedophile' and 'pedophile apologist’).
Dr. Money tried to prove that a child’s gender identity could be changed through upbringing rather than biology. A tragic case involved a boy named David Reimer, who was born healthy as a male twin. After a medical accident during a circumcision procedure damaged his sexual organ, his parents searched for help and eventually met Dr. Money.
Dr. Money convinced the parents to raise the boy as a girl. The child was given surgery, hormones, and psychological conditioning to live as a female. During this process, disturbing and harmful experiments were carried out, including forcing inappropriate sexual behavior between the twins during counseling sessions while Money observed.
Despite being raised as a girl, David never felt comfortable in that identity. He suffered severe confusion, depression, and emotional trauma throughout his life. Eventually, he rejected the female identity and returned to living as a male.
However, this led to a life of suffering, depression and trauma and Reimer eventually committed suicide later in his life, having already made past attempts on his life. His twin brother, Brian had committed suicide two years earlier, and later, their father committed suicide being unable to overcome feelings of guilt.
This tragic outcome showed that biological reality could not simply be changed through social conditioning or medical intervention.
It should also be understood that intersex people do exist, meaning individuals born with incomplete or unclear biological characteristics. Islam recognizes their condition and provides rulings for them, and harming or mocking such people is strictly forbidden. Their situation is not the same as modern gender ideology.
Allāh mentions the statement of Iblīs:
“And I will
mislead them, and I will arouse in them sinful desires, and I will command them so they will slit the ears
of cattle, and I will command them so they will change the creation of Allāh. And whoever takes Satan as an
ally instead of Allāh has certainly sustained a clear loss.”
(Sūrah al-Nisā
4:119)
Imām al-Saʿdī (رحمه الله) said:
This includes changing the outward appearance through tattooing, plucking hair (from eyebrows), making gaps (in teeth) for beauty and what is like them of affairs in which Satan has beguiled them. So they altered the creation of al-Raḥmān. This comprises anger towards his own appearance, reviling Allāh’s wisdom, believing that what they do with their hands is better than Allāh’s creation and not being pleased with His decree and arrangement.
Changing outward appearance is already warned against, yet modern gender ideology attempts to change or even remove the very meaning of male and female themselves.
Because of this, Muslim parents should teach their children the natural differences, virtues, and unique qualities of males and females while also teaching that men and women are equal as servants of Allāh in worship, justice, and responsibility. Differences in certain rulings exist only where biological differences require them, such as matters related to menstruation.
Strong families, clear understanding of creation, and adherence to divine guidance protect individuals and societies from confusion and moral harm.
Summary: The Two Biological Sexes and the Invention of Gender Identity (AbuIyaad.com)
The article argues that the distinction between male and female is a natural and divine reality created by Allah and recognized by all human societies throughout history. It explains that biological differences between men and women are not random but are part of Allah’s wisdom, especially for the purpose of marriage, family stability, reproduction, and the continuation of human life.
The author uses Qur’anic verses such as “And by Him Who created the male and the female” (92:3) and “He created for you from yourselves mates that you may find tranquillity in them” (30:21) to show that the relationship between male and female is meant to create love, mercy, family, and social stability. These biological differences also lead to blood relations, inheritance rights, and the preservation of property across generations.
The article then claims that modern gender ideology is not simply about personal identity but is part of a wider ideological project. According to the author, movements that promote gender confusion, homosexuality, and transgenderism are connected to collectivist and Marxist ideas that seek to weaken the family system. The argument presented is that strong families, marriage, and inheritance protect private property and social independence, while weakening biological sex and family roles makes society easier to control economically and socially.
The article also states that the idea of “gender identity” is a modern invention, particularly linked to the work of Dr. John Money in the mid-20th century. His theories separated biological sex from behavior and identity, claiming that gender could be changed. The article highlights the case of David Reimer as an example where these ideas failed and caused serious psychological harm, presenting it as evidence that biological sex cannot be changed by social conditioning.
At the same time, the article clarifies that intersex people do exist and that Islam recognizes their situation and prohibits mocking or harming them. However, it argues that this medical condition should not be used to justify broader gender ideology.
Finally, the article concludes that confusion about biological sex is seen as part of a larger moral and social decline. It links this to the Qur’anic warning that Satan will mislead people and encourage them to change the creation of Allah. The author ends by advising Muslim parents to teach children the natural differences between men and women while also teaching that both are equal as servants of Allah in worship and responsibility.

Why Are People Online and Offline Raising Questions About the Two Biological Sexes?
On the internet, through web series, porn, movies, dramas, cartoons, comedies, stand-up shows, and other channels, people of all ages—young, adult, and older—are exposed to intimacy between men and men, or women and women. They see acts like tongue kissing, light kissing, seduction, and people imitating the opposite gender. This is unnatural and makes the heart and mind uncomfortable when consumed. As a result, people start feeling curious and confused, trying to understand why this is happening. Some even compare this to intersex people (hermaphrodites), who are born with a mix of both male and female characteristics. In Islam, intersex people are classified as male or female depending on which traits are dominant.
Social media and the internet are now used to reach people globally and push these harmful ideas. No matter how strong someone’s fiṭrah (natural disposition) is, repeated exposure to such content over time sticks in the mind. This gradually corrupts the fiṭrah, which is why these platforms constantly promote such content. Intersex people are sometimes used as examples to justify changing men into women, women into men, or promoting intimacy and marriage between the same gender.
The LGBTQ+ movement keeps introducing new terms to include intersex people and others, creating more confusion and spreading immoral thoughts and actions in society. Another reason is the trend and popularity factor. Online creators are active in making content that will attract attention, generate discussions, and be shared repeatedly. This increases their views and income through platforms like YouTube, Facebook, Instagram, TikTok, and others. Often, creators justify this by claiming “everyone has a right to speak” or “we should respect feelings,” using these excuses to normalize unnatural behaviors.
People also receive funding from organizations, political groups, or hidden networks to promote immoral content against fiṭrah. Money flows between countries to support such activities, helping these harmful ideas spread more widely. This shows how the internet and social media are being used to challenge natural biological distinctions and influence minds away from fiṭrah.

Who Should Not Read This Guide?
This guide is not suitable for extreme Ahl al-Bid‘ah—those who ask for help, assistance, dua, intercession, miracles, healing, or protection from those who are in the grave living their unseen Barzakh life, especially from the prophets, messengers, or any righteous awliyah of Allah, by claiming that Allah has given them special abilities and power. They also claim that, We have Iman(faith) that, Allah is the ultimate helper, provider, sustainer, and controller of all harms and benefits, and that by Allah’s favor, permission, and will, these prophets, messengers, and righteous awliyah in the grave help, assist, provide intercession, and make dua to Allah for worldly peoples in times of ease and hardship—whether called upon near their gravesites or from far away. Examples of such claims include: “Ya Rasulullah madad, for the sake of Allah,” “Ya Shaykh Abdul Qadir Jilani, help me by the permission of Allah,” “Ya Gawth Mianuddin Chishti, bless me with a righteous child,” “Ya Ali, Madad,” “Ya Hussain, Madad,” “Ya Rasulullah, ask Allah or make dua or intercede for me with Allah,” and so on.
This major shirk-kufr is very common among extreme Ahl al-Bid‘ah, such as extreme Sufis (e.g., Barelvi Sufis, Tijani Sufis, Chisti Sufis, Naqshbandi Sufis) and extreme Shias like Rafidah Shias. All these groups are Mushrik-Kafir jama‘ah in general, because they practice major shirk-kufr, which is very obvious and well known(maroof) in Islam that asking for help and assitance, requesting anything, requesting dua, requesting to intercede with Allah from those who are in the grave living barzakh unseen life whether from propehts, mesangers, awaliyah allah, general muslims, non-muslims infront of their gravesite or far from gravesite is major shirk-kufr with Allah. May Allah guide all of us. Ameen.

Below are the correct statements and their explanation of the 10 quiz in short form
Question 1:
– Rejecting Prophets and Messengers of Allah as intermediaries between Allah and His servants in conveying the message of Islam to mankind is major kufr-shirk. Whoever does this is kafir-mushrik.
– Accepting Prophets and Messengers of Allah as intermediaries between Allah and His servants in worship is major shirk-kufr. Whoever does this is mushrik-kafir.
– Anyone who rejects the last Prophet Muhammad ﷺ or any other prophets and messengers mentioned in the Qur’an and Sunnah as intermediaries in conveying the message of Islam is major kufr-shirk.Whoever does this is kafir-mushrik.
– Accepting the last Prophet Muhammad ﷺ or any other prophets and messengers mentioned in the Qur’an and Sunnah as intermediaries in worship is major shirk-kufr. Whoever does this is mushrik-kafir.
– Anyone who rejects Prophet Muhammad ﷺ as the last prophet and messenger of Allah and claims there will be a new prophet or messenger bringing a new law (Shariah) is major kufr-shirk. Whoever does this is mushrik-kafir.
Are all the above statements correct or incorrect?
A. Correct
B. Incorrect
Answer: A ✅ All the above statements are correct.
Explanation:
These statements clearly distinguish
between two types of matters:
- Belief in Prophets as conveyors of the message – rejecting them is kufr.
- Using Prophets or messengers as intermediaries in worship – doing so constitutes major shirk-kufr.
Also, denying the finality of Prophet Muhammad ﷺ and claiming a new messenger will come with a new law is a form of major kufr-shirk.
This aligns with Qur’an and Sunnah:
“Muhammad is not the father of any of your men, but he is the Messenger of Allah
and the last of the prophets.”
(Qur’an 33:40)
“And do not take the prophets as lords besides Allah.”
(Qur’an 3:79)
Question 2:
– Asking for help, assistance, dua, intercession, miracles, healing, or protection in times of hardship and difficulties from anyone who is in the grave, living the unseen Barzakh life, from their nearby gravesite or from far—whether the buried person is Muslim or kafir—is major shirk-kufr with Allah. Whoever sane person does this is mushrik-kafir without doubt.
– Asking for help, assistance, dua, intercession, miracles, healing, or protection from Prophets, Messengers, and Awliya of Allah in times of hardship and difficulties who are in the grave living the unseen Barzakh life, from their nearby gravesite or from far—is major shirk-kufr with Allah. Whoever sane person does this is mushrik-kafir without doubt.
Is the above statements correct or incorrect?
A. Correct
B. Incorrect
Answer: A ✅ All the above statements are correct.
Explanation:
This clearly falls under major shirk-kufr because acts of worship, reliance, or asking for help
(dua, intercession, protection) must be directed only to Allah, whether the person being called upon is alive or in the Barzakh (grave).
Allah said:
“And the mosques are for Allah, so do not call upon anyone along with
Allah.”
(Qur’an 72:18)
“And they were not commanded except to worship Allah, being sincere to Him in
religion.”
(Qur’an 98:5)
Any request for help or intercession from the grave, whether righteous or not, is a nullifier of Tawheed and constitutes major shirk-kufr.
Question 3:
– Asking for help, assistance, dua, intercession, miracles, healing, or protection from anyone who is in the grave, living the unseen Barzakh life, from their nearby gravesite or from far, at any time (istianah)—whether the buried person is Muslim or kafir—is major shirk-kufr with Allah. Whoever sane person does this is mushrik-kafir without doubt.
– Asking for help, assistance, dua, intercession, miracles, healing, or protection from Prophets, Messengers, and Awliya of Allah who are in the grave living the unseen Barzakh life, from their nearby gravesite or from far, at any time (istianah)—is major shirk-kufr with Allah. Whoever sane person does this is mushrik-kafir without doubt.
Is the above statements correct or incorrect?
A. Correct
B. Incorrect
Answer: A ✅ All the above statements are correct.
Explanation:
Adding “at any time
(istianah)” emphasizes that the prohibition applies always, not only in specific circumstances. Worship, reliance, or asking
for help (dua, intercession, protection) must be directed only to Allah, whether the person being called upon is alive or in the Barzakh (grave).
Allah said:
“And the mosques are for Allah, so do not call upon anyone along with
Allah.”
(Qur’an 72:18)
“And they were not commanded except to worship Allah, being sincere to Him in
religion.”
(Qur’an 98:5)
Any request for help from the dead, at any time, whether righteous or not, is a nullifier of Tawheed and constitutes major shirk-kufr.
Question 4:
Which of the following describes permissible intercession (Tawassul) in Islam?
A. Asking someone in the grave to make dua to Allah for you
B. Asking a
living person who is present, alive, and able to make dua to
Allah on your behalf
C. Asking Prophets or Awliya in the Barzakh to intercede for you
D. Calling
upon angels or deceased righteous people for help instead of Allah
Correct Answer: B ✅
Explanation:
Permissible intercession (Tawassul)
includes asking a living, capable person to make dua to
Allah on your behalf. This does not include asking anyone
who is in the grave or any deceased person, as that would constitute major
shirk-kufr.
Allah said:
“And your Lord said: Call upon Me; I will respond to you.”
(Qur’an
40:60)
The key distinction is that the person must be alive and able; asking those in the Barzakh (grave) for intercession is not permissible and major shirk-kufr with Allah.
Question 5:
Asking Allah by virtue of the status of Prophet Muhammad ﷺ or any other righteous Muslims, alive or in the grave, while addressing Allah first, using their honor or status as a means, is considered minor shirk, bidah, and haram.
Many weak and fabricated hadiths exist regarding this type of Tawassul & Wasilah.
Is the above statements correct or incorrect?
A. Correct
B. Incorrect
Answer: A ✅ The above statement is correct.
Explanation:
- This type of Tawassul is not major shirk-kufr, but it is still minor shirk and bidah, and is haram to practice.
- The invocation must always start by addressing Allah, but using the status of the Prophet ﷺ or righteous Muslims as a means is prohibited because it can lead to major shirk-kufr with Allah.
- Scholars caution against weak or fabricated hadiths that promote this practice, because it can easily lead to major shirk if misapplied.
Question 6:
Asking Allah by saying: “O Allah, I love Your Prophet ﷺ, I am his ummah, I love Abu Bakr, I love my parents, so forgive me, bless me,” and similar statements is halal and permissible, because loving the righteous people is considered good deeds.
Is the above statement correct or incorrect?
A. Correct
B. Incorrect
Answer: A ✅ The above statement is correct.
Explanation:
- Expressing love for the Prophet ﷺ, companions, parents, and righteous people is a good deed in Islam.
- When asking Allah for forgiveness, blessing, or mercy, it is permissible to mention love for righteous people as a motivation, as long as all acts of worship and dua are directed to Allah alone.
- This practice does not constitute shirk because no one besides Allah is being worshipped or asked to act independently or dependently.
Question 7:
Asking a living person who is alive, present, and able to make dua to Allah on your behalf is permissible and halal.
Is the above statement correct or incorrect?
A. Correct
B. Incorrect
Answer: A ✅ The above statement is correct.
Explanation:
- It is allowed to ask a capable, living person to make dua for you.
- This does not involve asking anyone in the grave or directing acts of worship to others besides Allah, so it is not shirk or bidah.
Question 8:
Asking Allah through His Names and Attributes is permissible and recommended, for example: “O Most Merciful, O Forgiving, have mercy upon me.”
Is the above statement correct or incorrect?
A. Correct
B. Incorrect
Answer: A ✅ The above statement is correct.
Explanation:
- Using Allah’s Names and Attributes as a means to call upon Him is legislated and part of correct Tawassul.
- This type of invocation directs worship to Allah alone and strengthens Tawheed.
Question 9:
Asking Allah using one’s own righteous deeds as a means, like the people of the cave in the authentic hadith, is permissible and halal.
Is the above statement correct or incorrect?
A. Correct
B. Incorrect
Answer: A ✅ The above statement is correct.
Explanation:
- Tawassul through one’s own righteous deeds, charity, fasting, or other acts of worship is allowed.
- The invocation always starts with Allah as the one who responds, and the deeds are mentioned only as a means, not as the entity who grants the request by depending upon Allah.
Question 10:
There exist weak hadiths, fabricated hadiths, and weak stories regarding mushrik-kafir type of Wasilah and Tawassul, as well as bidah mukaffirah and bidah which is minor shirk or kufr.
Is the above statement correct or incorrect?
A. Correct
B. Incorrect
Answer: A ✅ The above statement is correct.
Explanation:
- Many people are misled by weak or fabricated narrations that promote major shirk-kufr or minor shirk practices.
- Scholars warn against following these sources, because they can lead to bidah, minor or major shirk, and deviation from correct Tawheed.
Why Should You Care About This Subject?
- To understand how the intersex (Kinner) community is different from the LGBTQ+ community.
- As the saying goes, history repeats itself; the people of Lut (Alayhi Salam) engaged in this evil practice.
- To have an idea of where the world is heading regarding morality and sexual practices.
- To know the Islamic law (Shariah) concerning homosexuality and LGBTQ+ acts.
- To understand why intersex people—who are born with neither fully formed male nor female sexual organs—exist, and that sometimes intersex traits only appear when a person reaches puberty.
- To generate patience if a child is born intersex or if the condition becomes apparent at puberty, so one can
submit to Allah’s Qadar (pre-decree) without
questioning His will.
- To be very careful when choosing a marriage partner, because some people may hide medical conditions due to fear of shame from their community, society, relatives, or friends.
- To develop hatred for this LGBTQ+ immoral act, and avoid participating in LGBTQ+ ideologies.
- To quit consuming porn, movies, standup comdies shows, cartoons, youtube shorts, facebook/instagram reels, tiktok videos, web series and others that portray homosexual acts or imitiating opposite gender.
Note:
- LGBTQ and its variants like LGBTQ+ have the same meaning, except I (Intersex) is included in LGBTQ+. Homosexuality, LGBTQ, Gay, Lesbian, and Transgender all refer to sexual intimacy or marriage with the same gender or changing gender through surgery.
- Intersex, Kinner, Hermaphrodite, 3rd Gender, Effeminate, Xakkah, or Hijdah (in some Asian communities) all refer to the same condition: those born without fully formed male or female organs, and their behavioural characteristics are rooted in their incompletely distinguished biology but has one set of dominant characteristics. In Islam, such a person is classified into one of the two biological sexes, either male or female, depending on which traits are predominant.
And From Where Do You Take Islamic Knowledge?
I take knowledge of Islam from the Salafi Publications (SPubs) network, especially from Masjid DarruSunnah (DUS Dawah), where the Algerian teacher Shamshuddin Abu Aishah Bensafi (Shamshi) teaches.
Prominent scholars (Kibaar Ulema) have praised Salafi Publications, including Al-Allamah Imam Rabi Hadi Al-Madkhali, Al-Allamah Shaykh ‘Ubayd al-Jābirī, Sunni-Salafi Shaykh Hasan Al-Banna (not the Ikhwani Hasan Al-Banna), and many others.

[1] Quran Surah Yunus verse 19:
Mankind were but one community (i.e. on one religion - Islâmic Monotheism), then they differed (later); and had not it been for a Word that went forth before from your Lord, it would have been settled between them regarding what they differed.
— Al-Hilali & Khan
Brief summarized tafsir(cmmentary of the Quran) by Allamah Imam ibn Katheer:
Shirk is New
Allah then tells us that Shirk was new among mankind. It was not in existence in the beginning. He tells us that people were believers in one religion and that religion was Islam. Ibn `Abbas said: "There were ten centuries between Adam and Nuh. They were all on Islam. Then differences among people took place. They worshipped idols and rivals. So Allah sent extensive evidence and irrefutable proof with His Messengers."
لِّيَهْلِكَ مَنْ هَلَكَ عَن بَيِّنَةٍ وَيَحْيَى مَنْ حَىَّ عَن بَيِّنَةٍ
(So that those who were to be destroyed (for rejecting the faith) might be destroyed after a clear evidence, and those who were to live might live after a clear evidence.)8:42 Allah's statement:
وَلَوْلاَ كَلِمَةٌ سَبَقَتْ مِن رَّبِّكَ
(And had not it been for a Word that went forth before from your Lord...) means that if Allah had not decreed He would not punish anyone until the evidence is established against them. And also that if He had not given creatures a respite until a defined term had passed, He would have judged among them in what they disputed. Then He would have caused the believers to be happy and delighted and the disbelievers to be miserable and wretched.
[2] And said, 'Never leave your gods and never leave Wadd or Suwāʿ or Yaghūth and Yaʿūq and Nasr.'1
— Saheeh International
23. "And they have said: ‘You shall not leave your gods: nor shall you leave Wadd, nor Suwâ‘, nor Yaghûth, nor Ya‘ûq nor Nasr’ (these are the names of their idols).
— Al-Hilali & Khan
Quran Surah Nooh 71:23
Below is very brief summarized tafsir(cmmentary of the Quran) by Allamah Imam ibn Katheer:
“...The Idols of the People of Nuh and what happened to Him
(And they have plotted a mighty plot. And they have said: `You shall not leave your gods, nor shall you leave Wadd, nor Suwa`, nor Yaghuth, and Ya`uq and Nasr.') These are the names of their idols which they used to worship besides Allah. Al-Bukhari recorded from Ibn `Abbas that he said, "The idols that were among the people of Nuh wound up among the Arabs afterwards.
In reference to Wadd, it became the idol of the people of Kalb in the area of Dawmat Al-Jandal. Suwa` became the idol of the people of Hudhayl. Yaghuth became the idol of the people of Murad, then the people of Bani Ghutayf at Al-Juruf in the area of Saba' worshipped it after them. Ya`uq became the idol of the people of Hamdan. Nasr became the idol of the people of Himyar for the family of Dhu Kala`.
These idols were all named after righteous men from the people of Nuh. Then when these men died, Shaytan inspired his (Nuh's) people to erect statues in honor of them at their gathering places where they used to come and sit, and to name these statues after these men (with their names). So they did this (as Shaytan suggested), but these statues were not worshipped until after those people (the ones who built them) had died and the knowledge was lost. Then, those statues were later worshipped."
This has also been similarly reported from `Ikrimah, Ad-Dahhak, Qatadah and Ibn Ishaq. `Ali bin Abi Talhah reported from Ibn `Abbas that he said, "These are statues that were worshipped in the time of Nuh." Ibn Jarir recorded from Muhammad bin Qays that he said concerning Yaghuth, Ya`uq and Nasr, "They were righteous people between the time of Adam and Nuh, and they had followers who used to adhere to their guidance. Then, when they died, their companions who used to follow them said, `If we make images of them, it will increase our desire to perform worship when we remember them.' So they made images of them. Then, when those people died and other people came after them, Iblis approached them and said, `They (your predecessors) used to worship these statues and they were granted rain by their worship of them.' Thus, they (the latter people) worshipped them."

[4] The Seventy-Three Sects
Imām al-Barbahārī (rahimahullāh, died 329 AH) stated: “Know that Allah’s Messenger (salallāhu ‘alaihi wasallam) said: “My ummah will divide into 73 sects, all of them will be in the Fire except for one…”
This narration is authentic when its various chains and wordings are gathered together. The scholars have reported it and established its authenticity – and the reality of the ummah [through the ages] further proves its truthfulness [1].
The Messenger (salallāhu ‘alaihi wasallam) stated that this ummah (of Muslims)
would divide into 73 sects – and these are the foundations of the sects, there are of course more sects
than 73, but these 73 constitute the foundations of all of them. All of them will end up in the Fire
except for one. So the seventy-third sect is upon that which the Messenger (salallāhu ‘alaihi wasallam)
and his Companions (radiyallāhu ‘anhum) were upon – it is the sect saved (Arabic: nājiyah), saved from
the Fire. For this reason, it is referred to as the Saved Sect (Firqat an-Nājiyah) and they are referred
to as Ahlus-Sunnah wal-Jamā’ah. And all those besides them are the opposers, those threatened with the
Fire.
From them are those who will enter the Fire
due to their unbelief, others due to their sins and others due to their disobedience – those who enter
the Fire are not all the same. So it is not to be understood from this narration that all of the sects
who enter the Fire are upon unbelief.
“…all of them will be in the Fire except for one, and that is the Jamā’ah.” The Jamā’ah refers to anyone who is upon the truth even if it is just one person. A gathering of large numbers in itself is not an indication that they are upon the truth. Allah (the Most High) said:
وَإِن تُطِعْ أَكْثَرَ مَن فِي الْأَرْضِ يُضِلُّوكَ عَن سَبِيلِ اللَّهِ ۚ إِن يَتَّبِعُونَ إِلَّا الظَّنَّ وَإِنْ هُمْ إِلَّا يَخْرُصُونَ
“And if you obey most of those upon the earth, they will mislead you from the path of Allah. They follow not except assumption, and they are not but falsifying.” (Al-An’ām: 116) And He said:
وَمَا أَكْثَرُ النَّاسِ وَلَوْ حَرَصْتَ بِمُؤْمِنِينَ
“And most of mankind will not believe even if you desire it eagerly.” (Yoosuf: 103) And His saying:
وَمَا وَجَدْنَا لِأَكْثَرِهِم مِّنْ عَهْدٍ ۖ وَإِن وَجَدْنَا أَكْثَرَهُمْ لَفَاسِقِينَ
“And We did not find for most of them any covenant; but indeed, We found most of them defiantly disobedient.” (Al-A’rāf: 102) So attention is not given to numbers, rather attention is given to those who are upon the truth even if they are small in number in a given time or place. So even if there is just one person, he can be considered the Jamā’ah.
It was said, “And who are they O Allah’s Messenger?” He responded, “That which I and my Companions are upon today.” So this is the correct path: whoever is upon that which the Messenger and his Companions were upon, he is the Jamā’ah.
End.
