# 5. Homosexual Act is Worse than Zina(Fornication and Adultery)
Islam teaches that homosexual acts (the act of the people of Lūṭ) are among the gravest immoral actions. Many scholars explained that this act is more severe than fornication (zinā) because it goes completely against the natural disposition (fitrah) and the natural purpose of sexual relations between men and women.
Throughout history, fornication and adultery have existed among human beings because of attraction between men and women. However, the act of the people of Prophet Lūṭ was something extremely unnatural and unprecedented.
Allah mentions in the Qur’an that Lut (ʿalayhis-salām) said to his people:
“Do you approach men with desire instead of women? Rather, you are a transgressing people.”
This shows that their act was not only sinful but a corruption of the natural order created by Allah.
Evidence from the Sunnah
During the lifetime of the Prophet Muhammad ﷺ, companions sometimes came asking about their desires toward women, especially when they feared falling into fornication. The Last Prophet ﷺ guided them with wisdom and reminded them of morality.
One famous narration recorded in Sunan Ahmad states:
A young man came to the Prophet ﷺ and said:
“O Messenger of Allah, permit me to
commit fornication.”
The people turned to him and rebuked him. But the Prophet ﷺ called him closer and asked him:
“Would you like it for your mother?”
The young man said: “No, by Allah.”
The Prophet ﷺ said: “Neither do people like it for their mothers.”
Then he asked:
“Would you like it for your daughter?”
He said: “No.”
The Prophet ﷺ said: “Neither do people like it for their daughters.”
He continued asking about his sister, aunt, and other relatives, and the young man answered “No” each time.
Then the Prophet ﷺ placed his hand on him and made duʿāʾ for him saying:
“O
Allah, forgive his sin, purify his heart and guard his chastity.”
After that, the young man said that nothing was more hated by him than fornication.[1]
Important Point
This narration shows something very important:
- A person came asking about desire for the opposite gender.
- The Prophet ﷺ guided him and corrected his thinking.
However, there is no recorded case where someone came asking permission to engage in same-sex acts. This shows how abnormal and unacceptable such behavior was among the companions. It was not even considered something people would ask permission for.
This indicates several important realities:
- Human nature naturally inclines toward the opposite gender, even when people fall into sin.
- Fornication occurs because of uncontrolled desires between men and women.
- Homosexual acts, however, go against the natural purpose of sexual relations, which is companionship, family, and reproduction.
- Because of this, Islam treats the act of the people of Lūṭ as a very severe moral corruption.
Conclusion
Islam recognizes that human beings may experience temptations and sinful desires, but it clearly distinguishes between natural attraction between men and women and unnatural sexual acts.
The guidance of the Prophet ﷺ teaches Muslims to control their desires, protect their morality, and seek purity through marriage and obedience to Allah.
#6. Who Coined the Term “Homosexual”?
The commonly used terms homosexual and heterosexual are relatively recent in origin. Károly Mária Kertbeny (d. 1882) first coined the word “homosexual” in a letter he wrote to Karl Heinrich Ulrichs on 6 May 1868.

#7. What Is Sodomy?
Sodomy is a term historically used to describe certain sexual acts that are considered unlawful or immoral in many religious and traditional moral frameworks. In classical usage, it usually refers to sexual acts between people of the same sex, particularly between men. The term has also sometimes been used more broadly for other non-procreative sexual acts.
The word “sodomy” comes from the story of the people of Lot (Lūṭ عليه السلام) and the city of Sodom, whose people were known for engaging in such practices.
Who Are the “People of Sodomy”?
The “people of sodomy” refers to the people of the cities of Sodom and Gomorrah, who lived during the time of Lot (Lūṭ عليه السلام). According to Islamic and Biblical accounts, they were known for engaging in same-sex sexual acts among men and other immoral behaviors.
In the Qur'an, the people of Sodom are described as a nation that rejected the message of Lot and persisted in their wrongdoing, for which they were eventually punished by Allah.
In simple terms:
- Sodomy refers to sexual acts historically associated with the practices of the people of Sodom.
- People of sodomy refers to the community during the time of Lot who practiced these acts and rejected his message.
# 8. Homosexual, Heterosexual, Homophobia, Gay, Lesbian, Bisexual, and Queer Are Modern Terms[2]
Many commonly used terms today such as homosexual, heterosexual, gay, lesbian, bisexual, queer, and homophobia are relatively modern in origin. These terms emerged mainly during the nineteenth and twentieth centuries and became widespread through modern social, cultural, and political movements.
The word sodomy primarily refers to the act of penetrative anal intercourse. Historically, the earliest organized pro-sodomy movement was promoted by Karl Heinrich Ulrichs (d. 1895), who attempted to repeal anti-sodomy laws in Germany. In 1867, he addressed the Sixth Congress of German Jurists in Munich, arguing that people who possessed a sexual inclination contrary to what he called “common custom” were being persecuted and that laws against sodomy should be repealed.
Because the central objective of early homosexual activism was the removal of anti-sodomy laws, terms such as sodomy, sodomite, or sodomist were commonly used in discussions about these movements.
The terms homosexual and heterosexual themselves are also relatively recent. The word “homosexual” was first coined by Károly Mária Kertbeny (d. 1882) in a letter written to Karl Heinrich Ulrichs on 6 May 1868. Ulrichs and Kertbeny, along with Heinrich Hossli, were among the earliest figures associated with the first pro-sodomy “human rights” movement in modern history.
They introduced arguments that continue to appear today, including the claim that same-sex attraction is innate and part of a person’s identity rather than merely a behavior. Their activism was presented under the banners of sexual emancipation and human rights.
After the death of Ulrichs, the movement developed into different strands. One direction, represented by Magnus Hirschfeld, promoted the view that homosexual men were more feminine in nature. Another current, represented by Benedict Friedlaender and Adolf Brand, followed ideas influenced by ancient Greek traditions, claiming that such men were hyper-masculine.
The term “gay” is even more recent and gradually became the preferred term used within homosexual communities, eventually forming a central part of identity politics.
Researchers and writers have also noted that identities such as gay, lesbian, and bisexual are relatively recent historical developments. Scholars like Charlotte Patterson, John D'Emilio, and Jeffrey Weeks have written that public identities based on sexual orientation largely emerged in the late nineteenth and twentieth centuries and became widespread only in the modern era.
Similarly, the term homophobia was later introduced by activists and writers to describe negative attitudes toward homosexuality. Critics of the term have argued that the word is often used broadly to label disagreement or opposition, even though the literal meaning of phobia refers to a clinical, irrational fear.
Overall, modern terminology related to sexual identity and orientation developed alongside social and political movements, especially from the late nineteenth century onward. These terms and identities became widely recognized only in the contemporary historical period, particularly after the social movements of the twentieth century.
# 9.What Is Homophobia?
The term homophobia was introduced later by activists and writers to describe negative attitudes, beliefs, or opposition toward homosexuality.
However, critics of the term argue that it is often used very broadly to label any disagreement or criticism related to homosexuality. They point out that the literal meaning of phobia refers to a clinical and irrational fear, usually recognized in psychology as a mental condition.
In this sense, critics argue that disagreement or moral opposition to homosexuality does not necessarily indicate a psychological fear, and therefore the term homophobia is sometimes used more as a political or social label than a precise clinical description.
I(Ali Hussain Dhuniya) and our scholars and well grounded students of knowledge forbidd attacking Homosexual person physically.
Well grounded student of knowledge, Shaykh AbuKhadeeja mention in his article that: “The Qur’an does not say how homosexuality should be punished, but a saying of the Prophet (may peace and blessings be upon him) makes clear: “Whoever you find engaging in the action of the people of Lūt, execute the one who does it, and the one to whom it is done.” (Ibn Majah 2561, Tirmidhi 1456) This saying must not be used by individuals as an excuse to enact or incite violence against homosexuals.
Prescribed punishments can only be carried out by the legal authority in a country that practices Islamic Law (i.e. in a Muslim country); and there must be clear evidence that actual sex had taken place. The Muslim penal code carries out punishments on the basis of the unlawful act that is committed and not on the basis of a persons’ inclinations where no illegal act has been committed.
This is the view of all of the famous scholars and jurists of Islam in line with the punishment dealt to the people of Lūt (in the Qur’an) and the hadīth of the Prophet. A Muslim, regardless of which country he lives in, is not allowed to physically harm those he regards to be sinners, nor incite others to do so. Vigilantism goes against Islamic teachings because it creates an anarchic, unjust and disorderly society.” End source: The LGBTQ Movement: Homosexuality and Islam: Understanding Muslim Attitudes To Homosexuality (Islam 5.7)
#10. Reminder to Muslims Regarding Slogans, Titles, and Labels
Now, from the above point, regarding homophobia, we know how evil people justify evil things using different slogans, titles, and labels, so one must know what is behind the labels.
You see, they first started to include it under human rights, then they turned it into a political issue, and so on.
Of course everyone knows that if they had started with clear speech by saying, “let’s have sex parties between men and men or women and women,” at the initial stage, nobody would go there or accept it. But these shayāṭīn among people with evil agendas are very clever. They used their money and power to enforce it upon people through entertainment, movies, dramas, and they normalized it in societies. Some countries even accepted homosexuality as a legal right and issued LGBTQ rights.
Just like we know when non-Muslims say Muslims and Islam oppress women, and they justify this claim under the banner of human rights and women’s rights, but scholars and students of knowledge know what is actually meant behind these labels, which in reality leads to the destruction of women.
In the same way, Ahl al-Bidʿah from extreme Sufis and Shias, such as Barelvi-Sufis and Rāfiḍah Shias, say slogans like “Yā ʿAlī, Yā Rasūlullāh, Yā Ḥusayn, Yā Ghawth, Yā Khwāja.” We exactly know what is behind these labels and slogans. Outwardly, it appears as if they are just addressing the Prophets and righteous Awliyāʾ, but that is not the case. If you go inside their belief, they mean that we can ask them for help, assistance, duʿāʾ, intercession, healing, protection, and miracles, even though they are in the grave, living the Barzakh life, and are not present in this worldly life. They claim that their Barzakh life is like worldly life and that there is no difference between the life of this world and the life of the grave. We know that this belief is pure major shirk and kufr with Allah.
The Khawārij also used a Qur’ānic verse, “whoever rules by other than what Allah revealed is a disbeliever,” to justify their oppression and rebellion against ʿAlī ibn Abī Ṭālib. They succeeded in spreading this misguidance, and ʿAbd al-Raḥmān ibn Muljim killed ʿAlī ibn Abī Ṭālib, even though Ibn Muljim was known as a ḥāfiẓ of the Qur’an.
So be very careful with slogans, titles, and labels. Whatever the Qur’an, Sunnah, and the Salaf used, use it. Other than that, always seek clarity about what is actually meant behind those labels and slogans.
For example, some people of bidʿah, such as Māturīdīs, Ashʿarīs, and philosophers of ʿilm al-kalām, including some from the Deobandi background, use the term “jism” to attack Sunni-Salafi-Ahl al-Hadith regarding Allah’s names and attributes. We do not use this term. Our Salaf used the term “dhāt” (essence).
So when they use the word jism, we
ask: What do you mean by jism?
If they mean that
Allah is above the ʿArsh, above the creation, separated from His creation in
reality, then we accept the meaning, although we still do not use the word
jism because it is an ambiguous
term. But if they mean that Allah has a body like our
physical bodies, then we reject it, because there is nothing
like unto Allah, yet He hears and He sees.
Allah says in the Qur’an that there is nothing similar to Him, and He is the All-Hearing, the All-Seeing. So Allah is not like His creation, even though we also hear and see. We do not resemble Allah to His creation by saying Allah hears like us.
Basically there are five groups regarding Allah’s names and attributes:
- Jahmiyyah and
- Muʿtazilah – extreme philosophers who rejected Allah’s names and attributes. According to many scholars these two groups reached major disbelief and shirk.
- Māturīdiyyah and Ashʿariyyah – they come from the same root as Jahmiyyah and Muʿtazilah but did not go to the same extreme level, so scholars generally do not make takfīr of them. Nowadays, many Ashʿarīs are influenced by Jahmī and Sufi ideas.
- Within the Ashʿarīs, there are different versions, such as the approach of Fakhr al-Dīn al-Rāzī, the Kullābiyyah, and the earlier approach of Abū al-Ḥasan al-Ashʿarī. Abū al-Ḥasan al-Ashʿarī repented from his earlier views toward the end of his life. In his book al-Ibānah he clearly mentions his belief regarding Allah’s names and attributes according to the correct understanding. Get the book here: see links[3]
- The fifth group is the correct and balanced understanding, which affirms Allah’s names and attributes without distortion or denial or without likening to his creation or without asking questions why, how, when and so on because the senior companions kept as it is so keep as it is but we make taweel(explanation) also which is the taweel of salaf not the taweel of innovated ashari, maturudi, jahmiyah, mutazilah, qadriyaah and so on.
However, this topic itself requires a separate book to explain in detail. For now, this brief explanation is sufficient.
So the point I am trying to highlight is to be aware of terms, slogans, titles and labels.
All these tactics originate from the head of Shayṭān, Iblīs. When Iblīs tried to mislead our father and mother, Ādam and Ḥawwāʾ, he did not say “let’s do something ḥarām” or “let’s disobey Allah.” Instead he hide his evil intention under beautiful speech and promises, saying that if you eat from this tree you will become eternal. In this way Shayṭān deceived them and caused them to fall into sin.
Today, there are many groups, misguidances, titles, slogans, and labels among Muslims and non-Muslims. If a person is not careful, he may easily be swept away by them.
#11. Homosexual Act is Unhealthy (Medically Proven)
1. The Human Body Was Not Designed for Anal Sex
Basic biology shows that the anus and rectum were not created for sexual activity. Their natural function is to remove waste from the body, not for repeated penetration.
Because of this, repeated anal penetration can cause many serious health problems, such as:
- Anal fissures (painful tears in the tissue)
- Anal warts
- Damage to the sphincter muscle (the muscle that controls bowel movement)
- Fecal incontinence (loss of control over bowel movements)
- Parasitic and bacterial infections
When the sphincter muscle becomes damaged, it may stop working properly. This can lead to leakage of stool and long-term medical problems.
2. Higher Risk of Serious Diseases
Medical organizations have reported that men who have sex with men have a higher risk of certain infections and diseases.
According to the Mayo Clinic, men who engage in same-sex sexual activity have increased risk of:
- HIV (AIDS)
- Hepatitis
- Human Papillomavirus (HPV)
- Herpes
- Gonorrhea
- Chlamydia
- Syphilis
These diseases spread more easily because anal tissue is thin and easily damaged, allowing viruses and bacteria to enter the bloodstream.
3. Higher Risk of Anal Cancer
Scientific studies show a strong connection between anal sex and anal cancer.
Research published in the Journal of the National Cancer Institute indicates that infections such as HPV are strongly linked to anal cancer.
Studies also show:
- Men who engage in anal sex are many times more likely to develop anal cancer.
- The risk becomes much higher when there are multiple partners.
4. Spread of Infections Through the Rectum
The rectum contains fecal bacteria, which means harmful germs can easily spread during anal sexual activity.
This increases the risk of:
- Hepatitis A
- HIV
- Syphilis
- Various intestinal infections
Medical studies have found that intestinal parasites and infections occur more frequently in men who practice anal sex compared to heterosexual men.
5. Higher HIV Infection Rates
Reports from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention show that:
- Men who have sex with men represent a small percentage of the population, but account for a very large percentage of HIV infections.
- Anal intercourse carries a much higher risk of HIV transmission compared to vaginal intercourse.
6. Other Health and Social Risks
Research literature also indicates that people involved in this lifestyle have higher rates of:
- Sexually transmitted diseases
- Substance abuse
- Depression and anxiety
- Domestic violence
- Suicide attempts
These issues are frequently discussed in medical and psychological research.
7. Islam Prohibits Harmful Practices
Because of the physical harm and moral corruption associated with these acts, Islam strictly prohibits sodomy.
Allah mentions the people of Lot who practiced these acts and rejected his warning.
The Qur'an says:
“Do you approach men with desire instead of women? Rather, you are a people behaving ignorantly.” (27:55)
Islam teaches purity, cleanliness, and protection of health, which is why such practices are forbidden.
✅ Summary
Medical research and biological facts show that:
- The anus is not designed for sexual activity.
- Anal sex can cause serious physical damage.
- It increases the risk of HIV, cancer, and other infections.
- Many health organizations acknowledge these risks.
Because of these harms, Islam prohibits these practices and encourages a pure and healthy lifestyle through lawful marriage between a man and a woman.

#12. Homosexual Act Goes Against Nature
Humanity exists and continues through the natural relationship between man and woman. This is the basic biological reality through which human generations continue.
If homosexuality were something that all humans were born with or naturally inclined toward, then human reproduction would not continue in the way it has throughout history. The continuation of the human race clearly depends on the union of male and female, because only this relationship has the ability to produce children and sustain future generations.
This reality is obvious and visible to everyone. Every human being is born through a mother and a father, not through two men or two women. The natural design of the human body also reflects this, where the male and female reproductive systems complement each other.
Because of this, human civilization has always been built upon the family structure of a man and a woman, through which societies grow and generations continue.
Therefore, when we look at the simple reality in front of us, it becomes clear that the continuation of humanity itself shows the natural order of male and female relationships. If this natural system did not exist, human generation would not have continued until today.
In other words, the reality is already in front of us. Humanity exists and continues because of the natural relationship between man and woman, which allows the human race to survive and grow.
#13 .Homosexual Act Goes Against Common Sense
Common sense tells us that everything has a natural purpose and function. When something is used in a way that goes against its natural function, it becomes harmful, unnatural, and irrational.
In the same way, the human body has been created with a clear design. The male and female bodies complement each other and are naturally suited for reproduction and continuation of human life. This basic reality is understood by every society and every civilization throughout history.
However, the homosexual act goes against this obvious design and purpose. Two men or two women cannot produce children, and their bodies are not naturally suited for sexual relations with each other. Because of this, such acts contradict the basic logic of how human life continues.
Common sense also tells us that if something cannot produce the natural outcome it was created for, then it is not functioning according to its proper role. The union of man and woman leads to family, reproduction and continuation of society, while homosexual acts cannot fulfill these purposes.
This is why throughout most of human history, people naturally recognized that such behavior goes against the basic order of life and human nature.
Therefore, when a person looks at the matter with simple reasoning and common sense, the reality becomes clear. The natural relationship between man and woman is what maintains human life, family, and society, while homosexual acts contradict that natural and logical order.
# 14. Homosexual Acts Go Against Fitrah (The Natural Disposition Created by Allah)
The Jews, Christians, and Muslims all agree in their scriptures that homosexuality is sinful[4]. However, in modern times, some liberal thinkers attempt to reinterpret religious texts and claim that homosexuality is natural and even approved by God. Islam rejects this claim entirely.
Homosexual practices oppose the natural human fitrah because the human body was designed for reproduction through male–female relations, not same-sex relations. The rectum was not created for reproduction, and its misuse can lead to disease, damage, and dysfunction.
If homosexuality were the norm within society, the human species would eventually cease to exist because reproduction would not occur.
In the matter of the ruling on homosexuality, the People of the Book—the Jews, Christians, and Muslims—have historically been agreed, at least from a textual and scriptural point of view. However, in the modern era there have appeared certain “liberal thinkers” who claim attachment to religious scriptures while attempting to impose upon them their own distorted interpretations. They try to present what they call “alternative facts,” which in reality contradict the clear teachings found in the Torah, the Gospels, and the Qur’an.
These individuals claim that homosexuality is normal and natural among humans and even sanctioned by God. In reality, homosexual practices oppose the innate nature (fitrah) of human beings, which naturally seeks the opposite sex for intimacy and procreation.
Homosexuality also contradicts sound intellect. A reasonable-minded person can easily conclude that the rectum of a man is not the place where the seed of reproduction is meant to be placed. It was not created for that purpose and brings no benefit. Rather, engaging in such acts can lead to harm, infectious diseases, and rectal, anal, and bowel dysfunction, as recorded in scientific literature.
In contrast, when a man has sexual relations with his wife, there are positive outcomes. It leads to family stability and the birth of children, because the womb of the woman is the natural place for the seed of the man. This produces future generations and allows human society to continue functioning as it should.
Homosexuality opposes the revealed texts that clearly state it is unnatural, sinful, devoid of benefit, and destructive. It earns the anger of the Lord of the Worlds in this life and in the Hereafter.
Even atheists and followers of evolutionary theory must logically concede that sexual relations between men contradict the natural order. If homosexuality were the norm within humanity, the ultimate result would be the extinction of the species. After all, how many generations could a community consisting entirely of homosexual males survive? The answer is none, because reproduction could never take place.
A man can have sexual relations with his wife for many decades without causing harm to her womb. In fact, research shows that marital intimacy between husband and wife can have positive effects on health, body, and mind. By contrast, anal intercourse can damage rectal tissue and bowel function.
There is also considerable research documenting increased health risks among those who engage in homosexual activities.
Many men who initially engage in homosexual activity experience feelings of guilt and sinfulness in their hearts because they instinctively sense the inherent wrongness of the act. Such individuals may suffer from depression, mental anguish, and inner conflict.
Statistics also indicate that suicide rates among homosexual and transgender populations are significantly higher than in other segments of society. For this reason, some scientists have historically regarded such behavior as a psychological or mental disorder that could potentially be addressed through treatment and counseling.
Consider also the comparison with people who migrate from war-torn countries to Europe and the West. Many of them have witnessed the destruction of their homes and the loss of their families. They often face alienation, racism, poverty, and abuse in their new environments. Yet even under such severe hardships, their suicide rates remain far lower than those reported among homosexual and transgender populations in places such as Europe, Canada, and the United States. This raises important questions about the underlying causes of such distress.
Many people believe that homosexual behavior may be influenced by environmental factors, social conditioning, trauma, or sexual abuse experienced during childhood rather than being something people are simply “born with.” If behaviors can be learned, they can also potentially be unlearned through guidance, discussion, and reflection upon the Word of God.
Fitrah and Human Nature
The Prophet ﷺ said:
“Every child is born upon the fitrah, then his parents make him a Jew, Christian,
or Magian.”
(Sahih al-Bukhari; Sahih Muslim)
Fitrah refers to the natural disposition upon which Allah created human beings. By default, a child submits to his Creator, and in this sense, the child is born upon the natural inclination toward Islam.
Similarly, by default, human beings recognize that sexual intimacy is meant to occur between the opposite sexes. Same-sex attraction and conduct represent a deviation from this natural design and a corruption of the original state.
From the time of Prophet Adam until today, sexual intimacy and marriage between a man and a woman have existed throughout human history. This pattern is embedded within human nature itself.
However, Islam does not deny that human beings may experience sinful desires. Throughout history people have felt urges toward actions such as:
- fornication
- adultery
- murder
- rape
- and other immoral acts
The existence of a desire does not justify acting upon it.
For example, people sometimes feel extreme anger and may momentarily feel the urge to harm or kill someone. Yet no legal system in the world accepts the excuse that “I felt like doing it” as a justification for committing a crime.
Similarly, the presence of a sinful desire does not make the action permissible. Moral discipline requires a person to control such impulses.
Unfortunately, some individuals and powerful groups attempt to change this natural human disposition. Through influence, wealth, and authority they promote the normalization of homosexuality through:
- movies
- pornography
- web series
- television programs
- comedy shows
- and other forms of media
Sometimes, there are also claims that scientists and doctors are pressured to support the idea that homosexuality is a natural and medically proven condition.
Such efforts represent an attempt to change the natural order created by Allah.
Those who profit from immoral industries often view Islamic teachings as a threat to their interests. For example, if someone profits from alcohol, gambling, prostitution, or usury, they are unlikely to welcome a preacher who teaches that:
- alcohol harms individuals and societies
- gambling destroys wealth
- fornication and adultery destroy families and lineage
- interest (usury) increases inequality between the rich and the poor
Naturally, those whose wealth depends on such activities may attempt to silence such messages.
In the same way, Islam is sometimes portrayed negatively because its teachings challenge systems built upon immorality and exploitation. Yet many people privately recognize that the moral guidance of Islam benefits humanity both individually and collectively.
Punishment in Islamic Law
The Qur’an strongly condemns the actions of the people of Prophet Lūṭ (Lot), but it does not explicitly mention a fixed legal punishment in the Qur’anic text itself.
However, the Prophet ﷺ said:
“Whoever you find doing the action of the people of Lūṭ, execute the one who does
it and the one to whom it is done.”
(Sunan Ibn Mājah 2561; Jāmiʿ at-Tirmidhī 1456)
Islamic scholars have discussed this narration within the framework of Islamic legal systems.
It is important to emphasize that such punishments can only be implemented by a legitimate Islamic authority within a state that applies Islamic law. Individuals are never allowed to take the law into their own hands.
#15. Some Try to Justify Homosexual Acts Through Animal Behaviour
Some people attempt to justify homosexuality by arguing that certain animals also engage in same-sex behavior. They claim that if animals do it, then it must be natural for humans as well.
However, this argument is flawed.
Animals often engage in many behaviors that human beings would never consider acceptable or appropriate. For example, animals relieve themselves openly in public places without any sense of modesty or privacy. Some animals may also display unusual or instinctive behaviors when they experience certain urges. Yet no reasonable person would argue that humans should imitate such conduct simply because animals do it.
Human beings are not the same as animals. Allah has honored human beings with intellect, moral awareness, and responsibility. Humans are capable of distinguishing between right and wrong and are expected to control their desires and behave according to moral and ethical principles.
The Qur’an clearly mentions the special status given to human beings:
“And We have certainly honored the children of Adam and carried them on the land
and sea, and provided for them of the good things, and favored them greatly over many of those We
created.”
(Qur’an 17:70)
This verse shows that Allah has granted the Children of Adam a special dignity and superiority over many other creations. Humans were not created merely to follow instincts like animals; rather, they were given intellect, guidance, and divine revelation to live according to moral laws.
Therefore, using animal behavior as a justification for human moral conduct is logically incorrect. What animals do does not determine what is morally acceptable for human beings. Humans are expected to rise above instinct and live according to the guidance of Allah.
#16. Some People Try to Justify Homosexual Acts Using Intersex Individuals
It is important to understand that there is a clear distinction between homosexual persons and intersex (hermaphrodite) persons. These two matters are completely different and should not be confused with one another.
A homosexual person is someone who chooses to engage in sexual intimacy with someone of the same gender. In contrast, an intersex person is born with biological characteristics of both male and female organs not fully formed as our shaykh AbuIyaad mention in his article that “It should be pointed out that there are “intersex” people, those born without fully formed male or female organs, and their behavioural characteristics are rooted in their incompletely distinguished biology. There are Islamic rulings pertaining to such people and harming and oppressing them or making fun of them is not permissible.
However, this should not be confused with “gender ideology” in the West, which is an ideological weapon for indoctrination, sexual perversion, destruction of family, reshaping of society and confiscation of private property which is the goal behind many of these ideologies masqueraded as science, progress, “inclusion” and “equality”. This is a natural biological condition that occurs at birth or in very rare case, the overwhleming signs appear when the child hit puberity and is not something the individual chooses.
For example, an intersex person may possess predominantly male biological characteristics while outwardly appearing female, or vice versa. In such cases, medical assessment and physical characteristics are used to determine which gender is dominant. Islamic rulings then follow the dominant biological characteristics.
If an intersex person is determined to be predominantly male and later marries or engages in sexual relations with a woman, this is not considered a homosexual act, because the individual’s dominant gender is male and such intersex people born like it unlike homosexual person who choose to enagage in same sex intimicy.
Intersex individuals do not choose to be born this way, and therefore there is no sin upon them for their condition. Islam recognizes that such individuals exist and provides rulings for dealing with their situation.
Intersex individuals existed even during the time of the last Prophet Muhammad ﷺ, and they continue to exist today. Islamic jurists historically discussed such cases and determined that a person should be classified as either male or female based on their dominant biological characteristics, such as reproductive organs, hormonal traits, or other medical indicators but we don’t have any third gender besides male or female and if something is ambigious then scholars recommend to wait for the signs to reveal.
For example, if a person is born with both male and female genital characteristics, medical examination may determine which set of characteristics is predominant. If the female characteristics are dominant, then the person is treated as female under Islamic rulings—even if outwardly their appearance may seem more masculine to some people.
Being born intersex is a rare biological condition. In this sense it is similar to being born with certain disabilities, such as blindness, deafness, or physical impairments. Such conditions are understood in Islam as part of the trials and tests that occur in this world.
It may be a test from Allah for the individual, their family, and the society around them. How people treat such individuals becomes a reflection of their compassion, justice, and moral character.
Unfortunately, due to social stigma, some families hide the reality of their intersex children because they fear negative comments or discrimination from others. This can cause the child to feel inferior or isolated, even though they bear no responsibility for the condition they were born with.
Islam encourages compassion, fairness, and dignity toward all people, including those born with unusual biological conditions. Their situation should never be used as an argument to justify homosexual or incest behaviors that are otherwise considered sinful in Islamic teachings.
#17. Don’t Get Confused: Homosexuality vs Intersex (Hermaphrodite) People, Transgender People, or Imitating the Opposite Gender[5]
Always remember, there is a clear distinction between homosexual persons and intersex (hermaphrodite) persons. A homosexual person chooses to engage in sexual intimacy with someone of the same gender. In contrast, intersex people are born with biological traits of both male and female characteristics not fully formed. For example, an intersex person may be male in terms of dominant characteristics but outwardly appear female. If such a person engages in sexual activity with women, it is not considered a homosexual act, because their dominant gender is male. Intersex people do not choose to be born this way, and there is no sin upon them. Islam classifies intersex individuals as either male or female, because in Islam there is no third gender—only male and female exist.
Intersex people, those born without fully formed male or female organs, and their behavioural characteristics are rooted in their incompletely distinguished biology. There are Islamic rulings pertaining to such people and harming and oppressing them or making fun of them is not permissible but medical assessment determines which gender is dominant, and Islamic rulings follow the dominant characteristics. Such people existed even during the time of the last Prophet, Muhammad, and they continue to exist today. For example, if a person is born with both male and female genitalia, then when medical tests are performed to define which is predominant, either male or female characteristics so if female characteristics are predominant in intersex people, then the intersex people are female, even if this intersex people looks outwardly as men in appearance to the common people.
Being born intersex is rare, similar to being born with disabilities such as blindness, deafness, or physical handicaps. It can be a test from Allah for the individual, their family, and society. So we say, Just like disabled people are born the same way, these people are born, it can be a punishment or a test for the parents, but it is definitely a test for the societies and communities because how they will treat this person determines.
Because of social stigma, families sometimes hide the reality of their intersex children, fearing that others will look down on them or say unpleasant things. This can make the child feel inferior or isolated, even though they are not at fault for their natural condition.
Likewise, transgender individuals are not the same as homosexual or intersex persons. A transgender person is born completely male or female, but because of their feelings, they choose to change their gender from male to female or female to male through surgery and hormone treatments. This process of transitioning is a deliberate choice, which Islam considers sinful, because acting on desires contrary to Allah’s creation is not allowed.
Feeling a sinful desire does not make a person sinful. For example, a father might feel lust toward his daughter, a mother toward her son, or a brother toward his sister. These feelings do not make incest or pedophilia permissible, and such desires do not come from genetics or being born that way—they are sinful inclinations. However, as long as a person does not act upon them or speak about them, they are not held accountable, and in fact, they are rewarded for restraining their desires until death.
There is a fourth type, which involves imitating the opposite gender through dress, behavior, speech, or actions. Some people even join intersex communities or use this behavior to earn money, even though they are fully male or female. Islam strongly disapproves of this, and the Prophet Muhammad warned against it. Today, this can be seen in stand-up comedy or online videos on platforms like YouTube, Facebook, and Instagram, where some people imitate the opposite gender purely to earn money from ads, but this does not make it permissible in Islam.
The fifth type is sexual intimacy between opposite genders, which is natural and allowed only within marriage. Sexual activity outside of marriage is considered a major sin. Marriage in Islam helps build trust, preserve lineage, establish families, and create a happy and loving environment. It also ensures that men and women fulfill their roles according to the Qur’an and Sunnah, guiding them toward eternal paradise after death.

#18. Islam Has Only Two Genders: Male and Female
In Islam, Allah created human beings as either male or female, and Islamic rulings are based on this fundamental reality. The Qur’an repeatedly refers to humanity being created in pairs, male and female, and Islamic law recognizes only these two genders.
However, in modern discussions, many people confuse different issues and mix together topics such as homosexuality, intersex conditions, transgender identity, and imitation of the opposite gender. These are completely different matters and should not be confused with one another.
Understanding these distinctions is essential.
1. Homosexual Persons
A homosexual person is someone who chooses to engage in sexual intimacy with someone of the same gender. This behavior involves a deliberate act between individuals of the same sex.
Islam considers such acts sinful because they contradict the natural order created by Allah and oppose the purpose of sexual relations, which is procreation and the formation of families.
2. Intersex (Hermaphrodite) Persons
Intersex individuals are completely different from homosexual persons. An intersex person is someone who is born with biological traits of both male and female.
For example, an intersex person may have predominantly male characteristics but outwardly appear female, or vice versa. In such cases, medical examination and biological indicators determine which gender is dominant.
Islamic rulings then follow the dominant biological characteristics, meaning the person is classified as either male or female. In Islam, there is no concept of a third gender.
If a person is born with both male and female genital characteristics, medical evaluation may determine which characteristics are predominant. If female characteristics are dominant, the individual is treated as female under Islamic law—even if outwardly the person might appear masculine to others.
Intersex individuals existed even during the time of the last Prophet Muhammad ﷺ, and Islamic jurists discussed rulings related to such cases.
It is important to understand that intersex individuals do not choose their condition, and therefore there is no sin upon them. Their condition is a natural biological occurrence and may be seen as a test from Allah for the individual, their family, and society.
In this sense, it can be compared to being born with certain disabilities such as blindness, deafness, or physical impairments. The responsibility of society is to treat such individuals with dignity, compassion, and fairness.
Unfortunately, because of social stigma, some families hide the reality of their intersex children out of fear that others may insult them or treat them badly. This can cause the child to feel isolated or inferior, even though they are not responsible for their condition.
3. Transgender Individuals
Transgender individuals are different from both homosexual and intersex persons.
A transgender person is born clearly male or clearly female but later chooses to change their gender identity. Some people attempt to do this through hormone treatments or surgical procedures.
In Islamic teachings, deliberately attempting to change one’s gender in this way is considered sinful because it involves altering the natural creation of Allah.
4. Imitating the Opposite Gender
Another issue involves individuals who imitate the opposite gender in dress, behavior, speech, or mannerisms even though they are biologically male or female.
Some people do this for entertainment or financial gain. For example, in modern media platforms such as online videos, comedy performances, or social media, individuals sometimes imitate the opposite gender in order to attract viewers and earn money.
Islam strongly discourages this behavior. The Prophet Muhammad ﷺ warned against men imitating women and women imitating men.
5. Opposite-Gender Intimacy (Lawful in Marriage)
The natural and lawful form of sexual intimacy in Islam is between a man and a woman within marriage.
Marriage serves many important purposes in Islamic teachings:
- building trust between spouses
- preserving family lineage
- establishing stable families
- creating loving and supportive homes
- maintaining moral order in society
Sexual relations outside marriage are considered sinful, but within marriage they are lawful and encouraged.

Key Points to Remember
- Islam recognizes only two genders: male and female.
- Intersex individuals are not sinful, because they are born with their condition and Islamic rulings classify them according to dominant biological characteristics.
- Homosexual acts, transgender transitioning, and imitation of the opposite gender are considered sinful if acted upon.
- Sexual intimacy is lawful only within marriage between a man and a woman.
Understanding these distinctions prevents confusion and helps maintain the clarity of Islamic teachings regarding human nature, morality, and social order.
#19. Can a Homosexual Person Be a Muslim?
The short answer is: Yes, as long as the homosexual person does not believe that homosexuality is permissible in Islam and does not preach to others that homosexuality is halal in Islam by interpreting the Qur’an and Sunnah according to personal desires.
At the same time, the person must struggle against the sinful desire so that he or she may be saved from the punishment of Hellfire. It is possible that some Muslims may experience such desires. When someone admits this struggle, that person should be advised gently and wisely, because Satan is our clear enemy. Just as Islamic preachers warn against major sins such as fornication and adultery, we should also warn against homosexual acts. The Prophet Muhammad ﷺ feared this sin for his Ummah. He said:
“What I fear most for my Ummah is the action of the people of Lūṭ.”
(Reported in the books of hadith)[6]
If a Muslim dies while having committed this major sin, it does not necessarily mean that the person will enter Hellfire immediately or remain there forever. Rather, such Muslims are under the will of Allah. Allah may forgive them, or He may punish them for their sins. If they are punished, it will not be eternal like the punishment of disbelievers. By the mercy of Allah, such a person may eventually be taken out of the Fire and admitted into Paradise. As Muslims living in this world, when someone dies upon this sin we fear for them, but at the same time we supplicate to Allah to forgive and pardon them.
However, the Muslim who struggles with this desire must be very careful not to publicize the sin or attempt to justify it.
If someone performs a same-sex marriage, meaning a marriage between two men or between two women, then this act is treating homosexuality as permissible by establishing a marriage between the same gender. Such a claim makes what Allah has forbidden appear lawful. Therefore, the couple who enter into such a marriage become kāfir-mushrik, and those who testify or validate such a nikāḥ are also kāfir-mushrik, as mentioned by al-ʿAllāmah Shaykh Ubayd al-Jābirī. If they die without valid repentance, then they will remain in the Hellfire forever.
Having a feeling of same-sex attraction is not a sin in Islam unless someone implements it through speech or by engaging in sexual intimacy, because our last Prophet Muhammad ﷺ said that Allah forgives the evil thoughts of this Ummah as long as they are not spoken about or acted upon.
The Prophet Muhammad ﷺ said:
“Indeed Allah has forgiven my nation for what crosses their minds, so long as they do
not speak of it or act upon it.”
(Ṣaḥīḥ al-Bukhārī and Ṣaḥīḥ Muslim)
Likewise, in reality there may be some men who feel attraction toward their own mothers, but that does not mean we say incest is halal or act upon this sinful desire. Similarly, a father may feel a sexual desire toward his daughter, a mother toward her son, a brother toward his sister, a sister toward her brother, or a father toward his daughter-in-law, or vice versa. This does not mean it is correct, nor does it make incest halal, nor should such desires ever be acted upon. Likewise, we should not begin propagating the idea that such feelings are inborn or proven by genetics scientifically. Of course not, never.
When it comes to scientific research or scientists and doctors, we don't trust them blindly. There are two types of science. One is hardcore science, which includes making phones, cars, buildings, medicines, AI machines, and different technologies, which we accept and encourage people to benefit from.
Whereas there is fake science speaking about desire, soul, life after death, God, Islam, universe, angels—we don’t take it and reject it completely. Similarly, we all know that by default, same-sex sexual activity is unnatural, disgusting, and absurd, and it carries several STDs associated with it, especially in the rectum, because a homosexual person engages in sex through anal intercourse, which can damage the rectum. No matter what any scientist or researcher claims, saying same-sex attraction is genetic or that people are born like that, we reject it. There are also some fake scientists who try to justify pedophiles being born with an attraction toward young children.
From an Islamic perspective, moral responsibility remains with the human being, regardless of claims about tendencies or natural inclinations. Islam teaches that a person may experience a desire, but they are still fully accountable for how they respond to it.
For example, look at our daily life and how the law operates in any country. If someone commits a crime based on their desires, the police and the courts do not excuse them simply because they “felt like it.” Deep down, everyone has tendencies toward good and evil, but merely claiming a desire does not make an unlawful act permissible.
It is very simple to understand: if someone says, “I feel like I should murder or rape this woman,” no society will accept that. So why should we propagate, justify, or try to legalize homosexual acts by claiming that a person “feels same-gender attraction”? The corruption associated with homosexual acts is evident in multiple ways—healthwise, with the risks of STDs and rectal damage; emotionally, causing depression and disturbance; and socially, disturbing public order and laws.
If we begin accepting personal desires as justification for actions, anyone could claim “I feel like it” to excuse any crime or sin. Islam teaches us that desires must be controlled, and accountability is never waived simply because one feels inclined toward something forbidden.
Therefore, the Muslim who experiences same-sex attraction should strive to control the desire, avoid the sin, and seek help through faith, patience, and repentance. This struggle itself can be a means of reward if a person sincerely resists wrongdoing for the sake of Allah.
# 20. Can Homosexual Person as Muslim Practice Islam?
The Question is: “What if someone commits homosexual acts but does not believe it is permissible in Islam, but at the same time wants to practice Islam?”
Answer by our Shamshi(teacher)
Shamsi replied:
Yes, that person can still practice Islam.
But they must continue fighting against their desires.
One does not cancel the other.
For example, some people say:
“I cannot become Muslim because I take drugs.”
But taking drugs should not stop someone from accepting Islam.
Instead, they should become Muslim and work to leave the sin.
Islam recognizes that people struggle.
If someone falls into a sin but does not justify it and continues to repent and struggle, there is hope and reward with Allah.
The Struggle is Part of the Test
Life is a test.
Allah says:
عَسَىٰٓ أَن تَكْرَهُوا۟ شَيْـًۭٔا وَهُوَ خَيْرٌۭ لَّكُمْ
“Perhaps you dislike something which is good for you.”
(Qurʾān 2:216 – Muhsin
Khan translation)
Sometimes we desire things that harm us.
Sometimes we dislike things that are actually good for us.
Humans Are Different from Animals
Some people try to justify being gay by saying, “But animals do it.”
But even animals, when they get too aroused, do strange things—they hug sofas, tables, or behave in ways that make no sense. That does not mean humans should do the same. Animals relieve themselves openly, but Allah has honored the children of Adam with intellect and moral responsibility.
This life is a full test. Things we love so much can be harmful. Allah says in the Qurʾān:
عَسَىٰٓ أَن تَكْرَهُوا۟ شَيْـًۭٔا وَهُوَ خَيْرٌۭ لَّكُمْ
“Perhaps you dislike something which is good for you.”
(Qurʾān 2:216 – Muhsin
Khan translation)
When Allah created Paradise and Hellfire, He showed them to the angel Jibrīl. Jibrīl looked at Paradise and said:
“Oh Allah, everyone will want to enter this Paradise.”
Then he looked at Hellfire and said:
“No one will want to enter Hellfire.”
So Allah surrounded Paradise with things that humans dislike, even though they are good for us, and surrounded Hellfire with things humans desire, even though they are harmful.
Allah said:
“Indeed, Paradise is for those who deserve My love and mercy, and Hellfire is for those who deserve My anger.”
So you must choose. Don’t let anything stop you. Life ends in death, and we all return to Allah.
When people see Hellfire, they will wish they could return to life to correct their actions. Allah says:
فَأَوْلَٰئِكَ ٱلَّذِينَ لَمْ يَرْجُو۟ مِلَٰءَ وَجْهِ رَبِّهِمْ ۖ
“Those are the ones who will wish they could return…”
(Qurʾān 23:99-100 –
Muhsin Khan translation)
But at that point, it will be too late.
Now is the time to face reality. You can say to Allah:
- “O Lord, let me return to do righteous deeds.”
- “Do not let me waste my life in desires.”
- “Guide me to worship You sincerely.”
This is our time now. The greatest righteous actions are to submit to Allah and become Muslim.
And the most evil action is to associate partners with Allah.

#21. How Islam Views Homosexuality?
1. Definition of Homosexuality
Homosexuality is when two persons of the same gender commit sexual intimacy.
This refers to a sexual or romantic relationship between individuals of the same gender, such as a man with a man or woman with woman.
A homosexual person is someone who engages in sexual intimacy or romantic relationships with a person of the same gender.
Two common terms used today are:
- Gay – refers to men who have sexual relationships with other men.
- Lesbian – refers to women who have sexual relationships with other women.
Islam teaches clearly that sexual intimacy is only lawful between a man and a woman within marriage, and any sexual act outside this framework is prohibited.
2. Homosexuality as a Major Sin in Islam
Homosexual acts are considered major sins (Kabā'ir) in Islam. However, they are lesser than major kufr and shirk as long as the person still believes that the act is haram (forbidden) and does not justify it.
In this situation, the person remains a Muslim but is committing a major sin, and he must repent sincerely to Allah.
3. When It Becomes Kufr and Shirk
However, if a Muslim justifies homosexuality by saying with the tongue that it is not a major sin, or claims that it is not haram, or doubts its prohibition, or supports marriage between the same gender, or even gives testimony in a nikah between the same gender, then all of these actions contradict the clear teachings of Islam.
Such actions take a person outside the fold of Islam and make the person a kafir-mushrik, because they are rejecting something that is clearly established in the Qur’an and Sunnah.
If such a person dies without repentance, then he will remain in Hellfire forever.
4. Unnatural, Disgusting, and Evil
Islam describes homosexual conduct as unnatural, disgusting, immoral, and evil.
It goes against the natural disposition (fitrah) upon which Allah created human beings. The natural system created by Allah is that men are attracted to women and women are attracted to men for marriage, reproduction, and continuation of human society.
Homosexuality goes against this natural order.
5. Prohibition in the Qur’an: The Story of Prophet Lūṭ
The prohibition of homosexuality is clearly mentioned in the Qur’an during the time of Lut (ʿalayhis-salām).
The people of Lūṭ were known for committing sodomy, meaning sexual intimacy between men.The proofs are many in Quran and Sunnah, some of them are:
Same-gender sexual intimacy is found in the Quran at the time of Prophet Lūṭ عليه السلام as well as in the Ahlekitab(Jews & Christians) books which Allah revealed i.e. Injil(Gospel) & Tawrat(Torah).
Allah said in the Quran:
“And remember Lot (Lūt) when he said to his people: ‘Do you commit the worst sin such as none before you have committed among creation? Indeed, you practice your lusts on men instead of women. Nay, but you are a people transgressing beyond bounds.’”
- [Quran 7:80-81 – taken from abu khadija article https://abukhadeejah.com/lgbtq-homosexuality-gay-muslims-and-islam/]
They used to have sexual intercourse with males instead of females. This evil practice was not known among the Children of Adam before, nor did it even cross their minds, so they were unfamiliar with it before the people of Sodom invented it, may Allah’s curse be on them.
- [From Tafsir of Ibn Kathir Summarized- of verses 7:80 to 7:81]
Allah(The Most High) also said:
“You come to the men of creation and you leave those wives whom Allah has created for you? Nay! You are a transgressing people.”[(Qur’an 26: 165-166]
Ibn ‘Abbās narrated that Allah’s Messenger (peace and blessings be upon him) stated:
“The curse of Allah is upon the one who engages in the act of the People of Lūt. The curse of Allah is upon the one who engages in the act of the People of Lūt. The curse of Allah is upon the one who engages in the act of the People of Lūt.”
Reported in Musnad Imām Ahmad ibn Hanbal 4/292 and graded saheeh by Ahmad Shākir; see As-Silsilatus-Sahīhah of Al-Albāni, no. 6432, who graded it saheeh (authentic)
Jābir narrated that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said:
“What I fear most for my followers is the act of the People of Lūt.” (i.e., sodomy)(Collected by At-Tirmidhi, 1457 and Ibn Mājah, 2563, and graded as hasan by Al-Albāni)
Ibn ‘Abbas said: “The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: “… cursed is the one who has intercourse with an animal, cursed is the one who does the action of the people of Lut.” (Narrated by Ahmad, 1878. This hadith was classed as sahih by Shaykh al-Albani in Sahih al-Jami’, no. 5891).
Ibn ‘Abbas said: “The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: ‘Whoever you find doing the deed of the people of Lut, kill the one who does it and the one to whom it is done.” (Narrated by al-Tirmidhi, 1456; Abu Dawud, 4462; Ibn Majah, 2561. This hadith was classed as sahih by Shaykh al-Albani in Sahih al-Jami’, no. 6589). Note: Punishment should be carried by Muslim Leaders when the proof is established in Muslim Countries as Scholars have explained.
They(people of sodomy) rejected the warnings of their Prophet and persisted in their sinful behavior. Because of this corruption and evil conduct, Allah destroyed them completely.
Allah said to Lūṭ:
“Morning is their appointed time. And is not the morning near?”
(Qur’an
11:81)
When Lūṭ left, he took his daughters with him and no one else followed him. Some narrations say that his wife was with him initially. However, when the punishment of Allah approached, it was never going to be averted.
It is reported that the wife of Lūṭ remained loyal to her people and acted as a spy, informing them of the guests who came to Lūṭ. When she heard the terrifying sound of the punishment and the towns being overturned, she turned back toward her people and cried out: “O my people!” At that moment, a stone fell upon her and she was destroyed along with them.
Allah says:
“So when Our command came, We turned their towns upside down and rained upon them
stones of baked clay, piled up, each marked from your Lord. And they are not far from the
wrongdoers.”
(Qur’an 11:82-83)
According to Ibn Kathir, the angel Jibreel uprooted those towns from the earth along with their inhabitants and animals. They were lifted high into the sky until even the sounds of birds could be heard, and then they were turned upside down and thrown back to the earth.
After this, stones of baked clay rained down upon them, each stone marked for a specific person, so that no one escaped the punishment.
However, Allah protected the believers.
Narrations mention that Ibrahim (ʿalayhis-salām) asked the angels whether the town would be destroyed if believers were present.
He asked:
- “What if there are 300 believers?”
- “What if there are 200?”
- “What if there are 40?”
- “What if there are 14?”
Each time the angels replied that they would not destroy a town containing believers.
Finally he said:
“But Lūṭ is there!”
They replied:
“We know better who is there. We will save him and his family except his wife.”
Allah says:
“Indeed, within it is Lot.” They said: “We know better who is there. We will surely
save him and his family except his wife. She will be among those who remain behind.”
(Qur’an
29:32)
According to narrations mentioned by Al-Hākim and others, those saved included Lūṭ and his daughters, who then travelled toward the land of Shām.
6. Homosexuality is Forbidden in the Books of the People of the Book(AHlekitaab)
Homosexuality is not only forbidden in Islam but also clearly condemned in the scriptures of Jews and Christians.
Old Testament
Leviticus 20:13 states:
“If a man has sexual relations with a man as he does with a woman, both men have committed an abomination. They are to be put to death.”
Leviticus 18:22 states:
“You shall not lie with a male as with a woman; it is an abomination.”
Deuteronomy 23:17 states:
“There shall be no sodomite among the sons of Israel.”
New Testament
Romans 1:27 states:
“Men committed indecent acts with other men and received the due penalty of their error.”
1 Corinthians 6:9 states:
“Do not be deceived: neither the sexually immoral nor idolaters nor adulterers nor men who have sex with men will inherit the kingdom of God.”
Jude 1:7 uses the example of Sodom and Gomorrah as a warning for pursuing unnatural desires.
7. Homosexuality: Is it Nurture or Nature? Can it ever be Good to be a Homosexual?
The Jews, Christians, and Muslims are agreed in their scriptures that homosexuality is sinful.
However, in modern times some liberal thinkers try to reinterpret religious texts and claim that homosexuality is natural and approved by God.
Islam rejects this claim.
Homosexuality opposes the natural human fitrah because the human body was designed for reproduction through male-female relations, not same-sex relations.
The rectum was not created for reproduction and its misuse can lead to disease, damage, and dysfunction.
If homosexuality were the norm, the human species would cease to exist, since reproduction would not occur.
So in the affair of the rulings of homosexuality, the People of the Book are agreed: the Jews, Christians and Muslims – at least from a textual point of view. However, there have appeared in the modern era ‘liberal thinkers’ who ascribe themselves to the scriptures and seek to impose upon the religious texts their own distorted views in an attempt to provide “alternative facts” which in reality amount to nothing short of contradiction and opposition of the religious texts that are found in the Torah, the Gospels and the Qur’an. These people claim that homosexuality is normal and natural within humans, and even sanctioned by God. In reality, homosexual practices oppose the innate nature (fitrah) of human beings which seeks the opposite sex for intimacy and procreation. Homosexuality opposes sound intellect because a reasonable-minded person will come to the conclusion that the rectum/anus of a man is not the place where the seeds of reproduction are to be sown. The rectum was not made for that purpose as it brings about no benefit. Rather, entering into that place only brings about harm, infectious disease, rectal, anal and bowel dysfunction as is recorded in the scientific literature.
When a man has sexual relations with one’s wife, it has positive outcomes and effects – it leads to good health without harmful side-effects, and results in the birth of children due to the fact that the womb of the woman is the place for the seed of the man. This, in turn, brings about a society that functions as it should. Homosexuality opposes all the revealed texts that clearly state that it is unnatural, sinful, devoid of benefit, and destructive, and it earns the anger of the Lord of the worlds both in this life and Hereafter. Even atheists and Darwinists must concede that sex between men is unnatural and irrational and goes against the natural order and the forces of nature, because if homosexuality is seen as normal within humans then the end result would be the extinction of the species. After all, how many generations would a community consisting of purely homosexual males survive? The answer is “None” since reproduction of the species can never take place in a single-gender.
A man can have sexual relations with his wife for many decades without any damage to her womb – indeed it is proven through research that sexual relations between a man and his wife are good for health, body and mind, whereas anal sex destroys and damages rectal tissue and bowel function. There are huge amounts of research which proves the increased risks to the health and wellbeing of those who engage in homosexual activities.
Most men who engage in homosexual activity (initially at least) feel a strong sense of guilt and sinfulness (in their hearts) because they sense the inherent wrong in this act – these men know it is unnatural and angers God, so they suffer from depression, mental anguish and grief. Furthermore, suicide rates among homosexuals and transgender people are far higher than any other part of society. For this reason, many scientists see their behaviour as a mental and psychological illness that can be remedied over time. People who travel to Europe (and the West in general) from war-torn countries, after losing their entire families (to mindless killing) and witness the destruction of their homes, and then they face alienation, racism, poverty, verbal and physical abuse in Europe still have far, far fewer incidents of suicide than homosexuals and transgender people living in Europe, Canada and the US. Ask yourselves why?
Most people recognise that homosexuality is environmental, something learned, maybe even fashionable or adopted a result of traumatic sexual abuse experienced as children, and not a result being “born gay”. So the fact is that homosexuality can be unlearned just as it was once learned through reasoned discussion, studying the Word of God and debate.
8. Fitrah and Human Nature
The Prophet ﷺ said:
“Every child is born upon the fitrah, then his parents make him a Jew, Christian,
or Magian.”
(Sahih al-Bukhari, Sahih Muslim)
Fitrah means the natural disposition created by Allah.
From the time of Adam until today, sexual intimacy between man and woman has existed throughout human history.
Islam recognizes that human beings may experience sinful desires such as:
- fornication
- adultery
- murder
- rape
- other immoral urges
However, having a desire does not justify committing the act.
Unnatural as I said, it goes against the human fitrah. However, the fitrah can be changed and manipulated, just like our last Prophet Muhammad ﷺ said: “Every child is born upon the fitrah, but his parents make him a Jew or a Christian.”
Fitrah means the natural disposition. By default, a child submits to his Creator; in this sense the child is born upon Islam. In the same way, by default we know that same-sex attraction and conduct are evil, unhealthy, and immoral, something that is not the natural design but rather a corruption of the natural state.
From the time of Adam until now, sexual intimacy and marriage between opposite genders has existed throughout human history and is inbuilt within human beings.
However, Islam does not deny that human beings may have sinful or satanic desires, just as the people of Lut (ʿalayhis-salām) engaged in the act of sodomy.
In the same way, Islam recognizes that people may feel sinful desires to commit acts such as:
- fornication
- adultery
- rape
- murder
- sexual intimacy with a child
- and other immoral crimes
But the mere feeling of a desire does not mean a person should speak about it or commit the act.
In our worldly systems and countries we see people committing crimes, yet no court or legal system accepts the excuse that “I felt like doing it.”
Even though we know that when people become extremely angry they may feel like killing, murdering, or torturing someone, that feeling is never accepted as a justification in a court of law or police station in any country under man-made laws.
Unfortunately, some evil and satanic people are trying to change this default feature of human nature, which is sexual intimacy between the opposite genders.
They attempt to change this through money, power, status, and personal agendas, using:
- movies
- pornography
- web series
- dramas
- comedies
- television programs
and other forms of media.
Sometimes they even pressure or influence scientists and doctors to promote the idea that homosexuality is a medically proven natural feeling, which in reality it is not.
Such people knowingly oppose the natural order created by Allah, and they are aware that Islam stands clearly against their evil agenda.
Those who hate Islam are often among the powerful in society.
For example, if someone owns brothels, casinos, or alcohol businesses, and a person comes into that area preaching that:
- alcohol is harmful individually and socially,
- gambling destroys wealth,
- fornication and adultery destroy families and lineage,
- and usury (interest) makes the rich richer and the poor poorer,
do you think that person will look at the preacher with mercy?
Of course not.
They will use their money, influence, and power to silence him and stop his message.
In the same way, Islam is seen as a threat to their business and immoral systems, so they utilize media power and influence to portray Islam and Muslims negatively.
Yet deep down, many of them know that Islam is beneficial for humanity both individually and collectively.
10. Punishment in Islamic Law
The Qur’an does not specify a legal punishment, but the Prophet ﷺ said:
“Whoever you find doing the action of the people of Lūṭ, execute the one who does
it and the one to whom it is done.”
(Sunan Ibn Mājah 2561, Jāmiʿ at-Tirmidhī 1456)
However, this punishment can only be implemented by a legitimate Islamic authority in a state that applies Islamic law.
Individuals are not allowed to take the law into their own hands.
Vigilantism goes against Islamic teachings because it creates an anarchic, unjust and disorderly society.
11. Unhealthy and several sexual diseases are associated with it.
In the book Why Homosexuality is Forbidden in Islam, the author mentions how the rectum becomes damaged due to homosexual sexual activity, because homosexual persons—especially gay men (men with men)—perform anal sex, which damages the rectum. The author mentions several proofs from a medical point of view, explaining that the rectum was not created for this purpose and that such activity can lead to harm.
The author also mentions that several sexually transmitted diseases are found at higher rates among those who engage in such activities. Medical literature has discussed issues such as damage to rectal tissue, infections, and other health complications that may arise due to these practices.
The homosexual act outside marriage, or when a person does not believe it to be halal, is considered a major sin, though it is lesser than major kufr and shirk if the person still believes it is forbidden.
However, this sin is extremely serious and can lead a person toward disbelief if one begins to justify it, declare it permissible, or deny that it is forbidden. For this reason, Muslims are warned to be aware and cautious, to avoid such actions, and to repent sincerely to Allah if they fall into any sin.
#22. The Traditional Muslim Viewpoint Based on Religious Sources
Muslim scholars throughout history have taken this story(the story of Lut alyhisalam) to mean that Allah has prohibited homosexuality absolutely, meaning courtship and sexual relationships between men are forbidden. Muslims view homosexuality as an unnatural condition, an immoral inclination, and even a mental illness that is dangerous for the individual and society in terms of its morality and well-being.
Islam teaches that a Muslim cannot be pious and obedient to Allah while practising homosexuality, because the two states are incompatible. However, Muslim doctrine does not automatically remove from the fold of Islam the one who commits the major sin of homosexual acts, as long as the person still believes it to be forbidden.
Abd al-Aziz ibn Baz (may Allah have mercy on him) was informed that some youth display signs of feminine behaviour. He advised that they should spend time with men so that they may learn masculine behaviour and benefit from it, and that the feminine inclination may pass away.
That is why our last Prophet, Muhammad ﷺ, said: “Separate your children in their beds when they reach the age of puberty.” Parents should take this into consideration because sometimes children of the same sex sleeping in one bed can have sexual feelings or urges activated due to sleeping together, which can lead to immorality. Likewise, children of the opposite gender, when they reach the age of puberty, should be separated by parents into separate beds. Even scholars mention that if a family is poor and has limited rooms, there should at least be a barrier between them.
And in another hadith the Prophet ﷺ said: “A man should not lie with another man under one blanket, and a woman should not lie with another woman under one blanket.”
These guidelines are meant to block the means (سدّ الذرائع) that could lead to immoral behaviour.
He(Imam bin baz) was also asked about a man who became a Muslim but before embracing Islam he had been practising homosexual acts. After accepting Islam, he repented from that sinful and un-Islamic behaviour, but his soul still felt desires toward homosexuality.
Shaykh Ibn Bāz responded:
“He should cling to his repentance, and all praise is for Allah.”
(See Sharh Bulūgh al-Marām, Kitāb al-Hudūd)
Clinging to repentance means that a person must:
- give up the sin,
- feel remorse for disobeying Allah,
- seek Allah’s forgiveness,
- and be firmly resolved not to return to the sin
again.
Today, some people claim that a person is “born homosexual”, and they use this claim to justify their sexual inclinations. However, Islam teaches that every child is born upon the fitrah, the natural disposition created by Allah.
The Prophet ﷺ said:
“Every child is born upon the fitrah, then his parents make him a Jew, a Christian or a Magian.”
Fitrah means that human beings are created with natural inclinations that Allah is pleased with, and with bodies designed to fulfil their natural functions.
With this understanding, Muslim scholars state that homosexuality arises due to a corruption of the natural state, which may occur because of various environmental or social factors such as:
- the way children are raised with the idea that there is no
difference between the two sexes;
- constant exposure to homosexuality until it becomes
normalised;
- being nurtured on theories and ideas that oppose science, nature
and sound intellect (for example, the claim that two people of the same sex are physiologically designed
for sexual relations or reproduction);
- sexual abuse during childhood which can lead to confusion
regarding sexuality and preferences;
- school indoctrination of children from a young age with ideas
that go against nature, health and wellbeing;
- constant encouragement from a young age to explore same-sex
relationships or “gay” role-play in schools;
- and the ostracising or criminalising of those who oppose the
powerful LGBTQ movement in many Western societies.
Muslim scholars state that just as people may learn or develop homosexual behaviour through environmental influence, they may also learn to correct their behaviour if they sincerely choose to do so and are helped in that process. In this way, they may return to their natural state, or at least refrain from homosexual activity even if they continue to struggle with certain desires.
#23. Warning of the Prophet
The Prophet ﷺ warned his followers about this sin and said:
“The thing I fear most for my nation is the action of the people of Lūṭ.”
He also cursed those who engage in the actions of the people of Lūṭ.
#24. Repentance and Struggle
A Muslim who commits homosexual acts remains a Muslim if he still believes it is forbidden.
However, he must:
- repent sincerely
- fight his desires
- make duʿā
- stand in prayer before Allah
and ask Allah to remove this sinful desire.
A Muslim who commits homosexual activity in private is still a Muslim, but such a person should fight his desire, just as Muslims must fight the desire for adultery or fornication with the opposite gender. He should make a lot of duʿāʾ, stand in prayer sincerely in front of Allah, and ask Allah to remove this sinful desire.
The last Prophet, Muhammad ﷺ, cursed those who engage in the actions of the people of Lot (Lūṭ عليه السلام), which refers to homosexual conduct between the same sex.
Abd Allah ibn Abbas said:
“The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: ‘…Cursed is the one
who has intercourse with an animal, and cursed is the one who does the action of the people of
Lūṭ.’”
(Narrated by Ahmad, 1878. This hadith was classed as ṣaḥīḥ by Muhammad Nasiruddin al-Albani in Sahih al-Jamiʿ, no. 5891.)
In another narration reported from Abd Allah ibn Abbas, Allah’s Messenger ﷺ stated:
“The curse of Allah is upon the one who engages in the act of the People of Lūṭ. The curse of Allah is upon the one who engages in the act of the People of Lūṭ. The curse of Allah is upon the one who engages in the act of the People of Lūṭ.”
Homosexuality is not genetic and not in-born. It is not caused by human genes or encoded in the body from birth. Sexual attraction and behavior are shaped by experiences, environment, upbringing, and personal choices, not by innate biological design.
Not a divine blessing: Islam does not recognize homosexuality
as a natural, blessed, or innate trait. It is always seen as a deviation from the guidance of
Allah.
Role of guidance and advice: Muslims who experience same-sex attraction should be treated with kindness, sincere advice, and support to overcome these desires rather than being shamed or mocked.
#25. Prophet Feared Most: Homosexual Act
Jābir narrated that the Prophet Muḥammad () said:
“What I fear most for my followers is the act of the People of Lūt.”
—
Collected by At-Tirmidhi (1457) and Ibn Mājah (2563), graded as ḥasan by
Al-Albāni
This hadith emphasizes that among all sins and immoral behaviors, the Prophet () feared homosexuality the most. The act is seen as extremely harmful spiritually, morally, and socially. It goes against natural human purpose, common sense, and the innate order of creation. Humanity exists to reproduce and continue the species, and homosexual acts, by their nature, prevent this essential purpose. The reality of life, human generation, and societal continuation clearly shows that such behavior contradicts the natural design and common sense, which is visible to everyone.
In short, the seriousness of the act, its harm, and its contradiction with human nature is why the Prophet () highlighted it as the most feared among his followers.
The Prophet Muḥammad () warned about the severe consequences of homosexuality and viewed it as one of the gravest immoral acts. He feared its spread among people because of the harm it brings to individuals and society.
A relevant hadith states:
“Do not approach women in their anuses, and do not commit what the people of Lūt
did.”
— Tafsīr of the Qurʾān 27:54-56, explained by Ibn Kathīr and other
scholars
This shows that the Prophet () was deeply concerned about acts of sodomy and warned people to avoid them completely. Such acts are described in the Qurʾān as immorality and ignorance, and the Prophet () feared the spiritual, moral, and societal damage that results from them.
Another hadith:
“Never does lewdness spread among a people until they make it open, except that
such diseases and plagues will afflict them that were not found among their ancestors.”
— Ibn Mājah, related through ʿAbdullāh bin ʿUmar
This emphasizes the Prophet’s fear regarding the public spread of homosexual acts and the resulting harm in society.
It is clear from these teachings that the Prophet () considered homosexuality one of the most dangerous immoral acts to both spiritual and physical well-being.
#26. Cursed by the Last Prophet Muhammad ﷺ
Islamic teachings strongly condemn the act of homosexuality. The statements of the last Prophet, Muhammad ﷺ, clearly warn against engaging in the actions of the people of Prophet Lūṭ (Lot).
ʿAbdullāh ibn ʿAbbās (رضي الله عنهما) reported that the Prophet ﷺ said:
“Cursed is the one who has intercourse with an animal, and cursed is the one who
does the action of the people of Lūṭ.”
(Narrated by Ahmad, 1878. This hadith
was classified as ṣaḥīḥ by Shaykh al-Albānī in Ṣaḥīḥ al-Jāmiʿ, no. 5891.)
In another narration, Ibn ʿAbbās (رضي الله عنهما) reported that the Prophet ﷺ said:
“Whoever you find doing the deed of the people of Lūṭ, kill the one who does it
and the one to whom it is done.”
(Narrated by al-Tirmidhī, 1456; Abū Dāwūd,
4462; Ibn Mājah, 2561. This hadith was classified as ṣaḥīḥ by Shaykh al-Albānī in Ṣaḥīḥ al-Jāmiʿ, no.
6589.)
These narrations demonstrate the seriousness with which Islamic teachings view the act of homosexuality and the severity of its prohibition.
However, it is important to clarify that the implementation of legal punishments in Islam is not the responsibility of individuals. Such punishments can only be carried out by legitimate Muslim authorities within a properly established Islamic legal system, after clear evidence and due judicial process have been established.
Islamic scholars have consistently explained that no individual has the right to take the law into their own hands. Matters of legal punishment belong only to qualified judges and leaders within a state that applies Islamic law.
#27 .Below are the Common Sense Points, Why Homosexuality is Unnatural, Forbidden Act, Objectively Immoral that is Shared by Every Sane Muslim or Non-Muslim Person:
- Not genetic or inborn: If homosexuality were genetic or inborn, human reproduction would have ceased long ago. The continued generation of human beings through opposite-gender sexual intimacy shows clearly that homosexuality is unnatural and evil.
- Feelings are not proof of normality: As discussed earlier, a person can have evil desires or inclinations. Having a feeling does not make it right, healthy, or normal. Natural human instincts are toward the opposite gender; same-sex attraction is a deviation.
- Homosexuality is abnormal: Sexual intimacy between the same gender goes against the natural order (fitrah) created by Allah. It is contrary to the purpose of human sexuality, which is for procreation, family building, and social cohesion.
- Physical harm: Anal penetrative sex, which is commonly practiced among gay men, damages the rectum and can lead to serious long-term health issues. It is physically harmful and opposed to the natural function of the human body.
- Unscientific and unnatural: Homosexuality contradicts human anatomy and biology. The sexual organs are designed for opposite-gender relations and reproduction. It is inherently unfit for procreation or healthy sexual fulfillment. For more details, see the book Why Homosexuality is Forbidden in Islam.
- Irrational behavior: Same-sex intimacy ignores logic and reason. A rational-minded person will see that the sexual act produces no offspring, offers no health benefits, and harms the participants physically and socially.
- Creates legal and social confusion: Homosexuality challenges the law and natural social order in countries. It creates ambiguity in marriage laws, inheritance, family rights, and social norms.
- Destroys families and society: By diverting sexual desire from its natural course, homosexuality threatens the family unit and social cohesion, which depend on procreation and stable marriages.
- Psychological and emotional harm: Many who practice homosexuality experience guilt, depression, and mental anguish because deep down they recognize the act is wrong and unnatural.
- Opposes revealed guidance: All Abrahamic scriptures—the Qur’an, Bible, and Torah—condemn homosexual acts as unnatural, sinful, and immoral. Following these acts goes against divine wisdom.
- Facilitates sinful environment: Promotion or normalization of homosexuality encourages sinful lifestyles, sexual immorality, and undermines moral discipline in societies.
- Preventable and correctable: Since homosexuality is learned or environmental, it can be prevented and corrected through guidance, moral education, and adherence to the natural fitrah.
- No benefit, only harm: Unlike heterosexual relations which fulfill natural desires, procreate, and benefit society, homosexual acts bring no benefit but only physical, mental, and moral harm.
- Against human fitrah: By default, humans are created to seek the opposite gender. Islam recognizes that sinful desires exist, but acting upon them deviates from natural human disposition.
- Cursed act: The Prophet Muhammad ﷺ cursed those who engage in the actions of the people of Lut, highlighting the severity and forbidden nature of homosexuality.
#28. Is a Homosexual Person Kafir-Mushrik?
The short answer is no, as long as the homosexual person believes it is haram in Islam and does not act through marriage or testify in the nikaah (marriage) of the same gender.
Homosexuality is a major sin, like other acts such as fornication, adultery, rape, murder, disobedience to parents, and so on. However, it is unnatural, absurd, immoral, dirty, disgusting, and an evil act.
#29. Is a Homosexual Act Make a Person Kafir-Mushrik?
The short answer is No, as long as the person does not justify it, does not act through marriage, and does not testify in the nikaah (marriage) of the same gender.
However, if a Muslim justifies homosexuality verbally by saying it is not haram, doubts its prohibition, or engages in same-gender marriage or testifies in it, then this person is kafir-mushrik.And if such person dies without valid repentence then will remain in the hellfire forever. Because the person made halal which ALlah and his messenger made haram clearly.
The short answer is No, as long as homosexual person believes it’s a grave sin in Islam & according to Shaykh Ubayd Al-Jabiri Rahimahullah, “the action is disbelief & marriage between two men is something which is well known in the Islam. The one who does the Nikah, the guardian & the two donkey spouses(2males or females) & the two witnesses are all disbelievers”.
However, Muslims who commit major sins (less than major shirk) such as fornication, robbery or homosexuality whilst affirming their transgression against Allah’s Law and affirming their sin, they remain within the Religion, albeit with weakness in faith (imān). These people are threatened by Allah’s punishment in the Hereafter unless they repent from their sins. And if they enter the Fire, they will not remain in it eternally.[abu khadija article=>>https://abukhadeejah.com/lgbtq-homosexuality-gay-muslims-and-islam/]
#30. Islamic Ruling on Homosexual Marriage?
We have discussed that if a person justifies homosexuality as halal or believes it is halal, then such a person is kafir-mushrik.
Moreover, if a person engages in a same-sex marriage knowingly, or if two people testify in a same-sex nikaah (marriage), then the couple and the two witnesses are all kafir-mushrik, with no doubt about it.
This ruling is mentioned by Al-Allamah Shaykh Ubayad al-Jābirī (rahimahullāh).
Homosexuality is a grave sin in Islam. Homosexuality goes against the pure human nature created by Allah, by making men content with men and women with women, destroying families, adversely affecting the birth rate, causing the spread of killer diseases, harming the innocent when children are raped, and generally spreading corruption on earth, should be uprooted and stamped out.
Al-Allamah Shaykh ‘Ubayd al-Jābirī about Gay Marriage
The Questionnaire says:
The Supreme Court in America has legislated a new rulling, permitting marriage between a man and man & between a woman and woman and you find some Muslims, May Allah guide them, in agreeing to this ruling, saying that if a man wants to marry another man there is no problem in this, do you have any advice for them?
Allamah Shaykh Ubayd Al-Jabiri replied:
I seek refuge in Allah.
They are donkeys, not people.
Donkeys dressed as people.
This action is disbelief.
Marriage between two men is something which is well known in the Islam. The one who does the Nikah, the guardian & the two donkey spouses(2males or females) & the two witnesses are all disbelievers because the impermissibility of this is something that is well known. The fact that a disbelieving country has permitted this is not evidence, this type of evidence is weak.
It is narrated about Abdul Malik Ibn Marwan who was one of the leaders of Bani Umayyah & Abdul Malik Ibn Marwan is well known, he is called the father of the Khualfah(rulers/leaders) because most of the leaders of Bani Umayyah were either his sons or his grandsons, he (Abdul Malik Ibn Marwan) said : “If it (Homosexuality) was not mentioned in the Quaran then I would not have said it could take place in this Ummah”, meaning that it is well known of the religion by necessity(the disgust & impermissibility of it) even with the common folk.
By Allah if you were to ask a elderly general righteous women saying to her “ such and such(man) from the people wants to marry a man,” Do you think she would refrain from cursing him? By Allah I don’t think she would refrain from cursing and abusing him.
I say this is well known in the religion by necessity(by everybody), well known in the religion by necessity (by everybody) & Nikah (a marriage) is making it permissible.
Why did the prophet command a detachement & the narration is in the Sunnah & is authentic to cut off the head of a man who married his father’s wife? Merely an action, understand this! this is permitting homosexuality which is something well known in the religion by necessity(by everybody).
Differentiate between the two affairs, the marriage between a man & his father’s wife & it makes no difference whether he divorced her or died while married to her, this is making it permissible for her likewise whoever marries a man like her (the same situation but with a man) then there is no difference(in the ruling).
Don’t be confused about this, the action of fornication is a sin & whoever makes it permissible having knowledge of it & intending it, fulfilling the conditions & removing any barriers (which may prevent the ruling of disbelief upon him), making it permissible by frank speech then this one has disbelieved, as for one who is merely does the action of fornication even if it is with a 100 women then this is fisq (disobedience/sin), it is obligatory upon him to repent & he has fell into that which anger Allah & we have already explained the likes of these affairs.
Homosexality likewise differentiates between the action & the marriage, whichever (man) marries another man this is making it permissible whether he likes it or not, how do we make it permissible for ourselves our wives?
Do we take them by their hands from the houses of their fathers? How? With a correct marriage contract. Is it not so?
And this contract, the marriage contract is done for him, differentiate! May Allah bless you, O students of knowledge who are present & those of you who are listening, differentiate between the ambiguous matters.
End of speech

#31.Punishment for Homosexual Crime in Islam?
The Qur’an does not say how homosexuality should be punished, but a saying of the Prophet (may peace and blessings be upon him) makes clear: “Whoever you find engaging in the action of the people of Lūt, execute the one who does it, and the one to whom it is done.” (Ibn Majah 2561, Tirmidhi 1456) This saying must not be used by individuals as an excuse to enact or incite violence against homosexuals.
Prescribed punishments can only be carried out by the legal authority in a country that practices Islamic Law (i.e., in a Muslim country); and there must be clear evidence that actual sex had taken place.
Vigilantism goes against Islamic teachings because it creates an anarchic, unjust and disorderly society.
Muslims Today who Engage in Homosexual Behaviour
There are homosexuals who consider themselves to be Muslims, and they know they are sinners in the sight of Allah just as there are some Muslims who fornicate, steal, lie and deal in usury. They recognize their sins. These sins are not considered unbelief that exit Muslims from the fold of Islam; but they are major sinners under the threat of Allah’s punishment as purification for their crimes.
Homosexuality is illegal in virtually every Muslim country in the world with punishments ranging from fines and prison to corporal punishment and execution. There are over 75 countries across the world, Muslim and non-Muslim, that consider homosexuality to be a criminal offence.

[1] Hadith on Zina: Would you like that for your mother, sister?
Abu Umamah reported: A young man came to the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, and he said, “O Messenger of Allah, give me permission to commit adultery.” The people turned to rebuke him, saying, “Quiet! Quiet!”
The Prophet said, “Come here.” The young man came close and he told him to sit down. The Prophet said, “Would you like that for your mother?” The man said, “No, by Allah, may I be sacrificed for you.” The Prophet said, “Neither would people like it for their mothers.
Would you like that for your daughter?” The man said, “No, by Allah, may I be sacrificed for you.” The Prophet said, “Neither would people like it for their daughters.
Would you like that for your sister?” The man said, “No, by Allah, may I be sacrificed for you.” The Prophet said, “Neither would people like it for their sisters.
Would you like that for your aunts?” The man said, “No, by Allah, may I be sacrificed for you.” The Prophet said, “Neither would people like it for their aunts.”
Then, the Prophet placed his hand on him and he said, “O Allah, forgive his sins, purify his heart, and guard his chastity.” After that, the young man never again inclined to anything sinful.

[3] The Creed of Abul-Hasan Al-Ash’ari: Al-Ibānah ‘an Usūl Ad-Diyānah: [1] Exposition of the Creed of the People of Deviation and Bid’ah — Penned by Imam Abul-Hasan
What did Abul-Hassan Al-Ashari; (founder of the ashari creed) die upon....... by Abu Khadeejah
Ashari Sect From Ahlu Sunnah? | Verdicts of the Major Scholars
Al-Shaykh Muḥammad Khalīl Harrās (رحمه الله) was born in Egypt in the governorate of al-Gharbiyyah in 1915; he graduated from al-Azhar University in Cairo sometime around 1940, receiving his doctoral degree in al-Tawḥīd wa al-Mantiq. He taught first at al-Azhar in the college of Usul al-Dīn. Later, he took an appointment to teach in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia—may Allāh (تبارك وتعالى) continue to bless and protect it—at Imām Muḥammad ibn Saʿūd University in Riyāḍ. He was known for harshness against the people of innovation and Sufiyyah, who attempted to take his life a number of times. From his many works, besides his book Ibn Taymiyyah, al-Salafī, is an explanation of Shaykh al-Islām's treatise al-ʿAqīdah al-Wāsiṭiyyah. He died in Egypt in 1975.
Benefits from the story:
First: This story shows the extreme importance of studying the books of creed and methodology authored by the noble scholars of the Salafī Manhaj. For here was Shaykh Muḥammad Khalīl Harrās (رحمه الله), who had studied the religion from elementary school all the way to receiving a degree from the college of Usūl al-Dīn; however, it was within a three month period studying the correct creed in the works of Shaykh al-Islām Ibn Taymiyyah that helped remove the veil from his eyes. This story is a clear example that the one who devalues the books of creed is either ignorant of their true reality or is an adversary to what they contain, and the sweeter of the two is bitter.
Second: This story is a beautiful example of Allah's (تبارك وتعالى) statement:
"And you do not will except that Allāh wills. Indeed, Allāh is ever Knowing and Wise." [al-Insān 76:30]
Do we not see that initially al-Shaykh Muḥammad al-Harrās set out to gather whatever he could from the works of Ibn Taymiyyah, with the explicit intent of refuting this great Imām, but Allāh (تبارك وتعالى) intended otherwise, and instead of writing against Shaykh al-Islām, Muḥammad Harrās (رحمه الله) ended up writing in his defense?
Third: That once a person hears the truth, they should accept it and immediately reject what they previously held from error. Moreover, they should work to correct and refute those errors as Shaykh Muḥammad Khalīl Harrās did with his doctoral dissertation, Ibn Taymiyyah, al-Salafī.
Fourth: Holding a university degree in no way guarantees that a person possesses sound knowledge. This can be seen in the statement of Muḥammad Amān al-Jāmī (رحمه الله): "After this period, he said it became apparent to him that he had not understood al-Islām except after studying these works. [After] those many years of study, beginning with elementary school, then middle school and afterward high school and university, until reaching the point of writing his doctoral dissertation, it became clear to him that he had not understood al-Islām correctly before studying these books."
Fifth: An encouragement to gather, disseminate, translate and spread the works of the Salafī scholars with the hope that those who have been affected by the people of deviance will learn the correct creed of al-Islām and turn in penitence to Allāh, as He (تبارك وتعالى) blessed Muḥammad Khalīl Harrās to do. May Allāh (تبارك وتعالى) keep us firm upon the creed of the Salaf, the people of Ḥadīth.

[4] The Bible (Old Testament) and Homosexuality
The Old Testament is followed by millions of Jews and Christians, and it too forbids men from having sexual relations with men. Chapters 18 and 20 of Leviticus list prohibited forms of intercourse:
“You shall not lie with a male as with a woman; it is an abomination.” Chapter 18 verse 22
“If a man lies with a male as with a woman, both of them have committed an abomination; they shall surely be put to death; their blood is upon them.” Chapter 20 verse 13
Deuteronomy 22:5 states: “A woman must not wear men’s clothing, nor a man wear women’s clothing, for the Lord, your God, detests anyone who does this.” This is a clear prohibition of cross-dressing.
The Bible (New Testament) and Homosexuality
The New Testament also condemns homosexual practices. Romans 1:26-27 states: “Because of this, God gave them over to shameful lusts. Even their women exchanged natural sexual relations for unnatural ones. In the same way the men also abandoned natural relations with women and were inflamed with lust for one another. Men committed shameful acts with other men and received in themselves the due penalty for their error.”
Paul wrote in the First Epistle to the Corinthians 6:9-11 states: “Or do you not know that wrongdoers will not inherit the kingdom of God? Do not be deceived: Neither the sexually immoral nor idolaters nor adulterers nor men who have sex with men; nor thieves nor the greedy nor drunkards nor slanderers nor swindlers will inherit the kingdom of God. And that is what some of you were.” The words men who have sex with men translate two Greek words that refer to the passive and active participants in homosexual acts.
[5] Don’t Get Confused: Homosexuality vs Intersex (Hermaphrodite) People, Transgender People, or Imitating the Opposite Gender
1. Homosexuality vs Intersex
- Homosexuality refers to a person choosing to engage in sexual intimacy with someone of the same gender.
- Intersex (hermaphrodite) people are born with biological traits of both male and female. For example, their body may appear female outwardly but their dominant gender is male.
- If an intersex person engages in intimacy with women, it is not considered homosexual, because their dominant gender is male.
- Intersex people do not choose this condition, and there is no sin upon them. Islam classifies everyone as male or female, with rulings based on the dominant gender.
2. Transgender People
- Transgender individuals are born fully male or female but feel their gender does not match their biological sex.
- They may undergo surgeries or hormone treatments to change gender.
- Unlike intersex people, transgender people choose to act on their feelings, which Islam considers a sinful act.
- Feeling a desire is not a sin; acting on it is. Self-restraint is rewarded in Islam.
3. Imitating the Opposite Gender
- Some people imitate the opposite gender in dress, speech, or behavior, sometimes for financial gain or social attention.
- Even if biologically male or female, such imitation is sinful according to the teachings of Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him).
- Today, this is seen in comedy, videos, or social media content, but it remains prohibited in Islam.
4. Natural Sexual Intimacy (Opposite Gender)
- Sexual intimacy between opposite genders is natural and only allowed within marriage.
- Marriage builds trust, preserves lineage, strengthens families and society, and creates a loving environment.
- Following the Qur’an and Sunnah helps men and women fulfill their roles and aim for eternal paradise.
[6] Ibn ‘Abbās narrated that Allah’s Messenger (peace and blessings be upon him) stated:
لعن اللهُ من عمِل عملَ قومِ لوطٍ، لعن اللهُ من عمِل عملَ قومَ لوطٍ، لعن اللهُ مَن عملَ عملَ قومِ لُوطٍ
إِنَّ أَخْوَفَ مَا أَخَافُ عَلَى أُمَّتِي عَمَلُ قَوْمِ لُوطٍ
“What I fear most for my followers is the act of the People of Lūt.” (i.e., sodomy)
(Collected by At-Tirmidhi, 1457 and Ibn Mājah, 2563, and graded as hasan by Al-Albāni)
When the people ignored the Prophet Lūt’s message, Allah destroyed the town and every transgressor in it, and He saved Lūt (peace be upon him) and his daughters. This event is a sign for the people who reflect. This story is also mentioned in the scriptures of the Jews and Christians.
